Fantastic win, if we go up it will be a great achievement with a lot of things chucked at us all season. The players worked very hard and scored some great goals, gave MK a proper good proverbial kick in the bollocks at the right moments of the game. A lot of good performers, I too would probably pick out Camps and Madden in particular. Madden seemed to just play everywhere. Paddy was incredible, popping up all over the pitch, never stopped running. One goal and two assists in the first three, involved in everything else, brilliant through ball for Wootton second half, and an important defensive header from our area late on. Astonishing fitness levels from a player some were writing off as 'over the hil' earlier in the season. I certainly thought he was in the decline a short while ago but he’s definitely upped his game recently

One thing about Powell that I really enjoy is that he absolutely loves a slide tackle. He was very good yesterday which is why he received such rough treatment, he was high fiving people on the benches when he came off so I doubt he's hurt too badly. I don’t think he was hurt at all. When he went down it was almost to the second on 60 mins so I would have thought that was a planned sub. The physio just talked to him when he was sat on his arse and then he ambled off.

Love Tanto. Getting better all the time. His closing down must frighten the enemy! How many offsides though? Reminds me of a puppy straining at the leash! Surely someone must be telling him he has most back lines on toast from a standing start?

Surely someone must be telling him he has most back lines on toast from a standing start? Thats his weakness at the moment or his team mates delaying a pass a couple of seconds. He was caught offside 3 or 4 times before his goal.

I was getting a bit frustrated at the offsides, but that third goal was down to a number of things, one of them being him constantly treading that fine line. (Also his quality to set up the tap in - I thought at the time he'd gone round the keeper, but he totally did him underneath.)

What a result that was. Could have been a different story had MK took their early chances, they looked a level above us for a while, great to see us digging in like we did and then ruthless when chances came, lovely stuff. Next few games will prob be more of a battle though and we'll need to be right on it, couple of twists & turns still to come but we should be full of confidence now. Camps is looking a player now & what else can be said about Paddy? F***in love him.

I've not read the whole thread so apologies if repeating a few things but on the various subjects under discussion:
CLE's goal. I'm right behind the goal low down in UT3. My instinct in the moment was that the goalie could have done better; seemed deceived by the flight of the ball which looked to be within his reach as it flew over him. On the replay shown straight after in the ground though- seems he has no chance, it's nowhere near him as it clears him, more bend on it than was apparent at first sight. And I don't see much wrong with his positioning either. So.. I think I'd give the goalie the benefit of the doubt there. Either way and as has been said- it's a fantastic strike by CLE in any case.
On CLE generally- thought that along with Camps, Powell and Paddy he would have been my other shout for MOTM. Is playing with a verve and confidence that wasn't there before. Like having a new signing, just brilliant.
On Tanto- agreed just that detail around keeping onside for him to work on, and on his day he'll be starting to look like the model striker of his type (pacy, play off a big man, running in behind, proficient one on one). The great thing here is he's a player who so clearly works on improving his game that I feel confident he'll iron out that weakness right before our eyes.. and in the meantime 20 goals in the season not a bad return for a slightly flawed frontman!
And on the Franchise Dons.. fair play to them I suppose for sticking to their footballing principles, but they looked like a team who could really have done with a Plan B, once it became clear Tanto and Co were going to press them to smithereens as they tried to play out. More credit I feel due to their fans, who seemed numerous and ready to stay and watch the hammering unfold. Although I did notice Ken waited until nearly 90 mins before advising them that the way out of the ground was the same as the way in except in the opposite direction- so perhaps up till that moment they were just hopelessly disorientated and didn't know where they were at all. Perhaps some of them are still there.
Overall- just a massive three points this feels like. Can't wait for the Easter double now- bring it on!

If you are in a battle all you need to do is not lose the battle and our better players should see us over the line. You are not in the top or bottom 3 just by accidents.

Their manager mike williamson has just carried on from his time at gateshead though with zero other plans and is the reason both teams have been turned over in games against lesser opposition they should have won. Both also have a soft underbelly also. Fine having principles as long as they work week in week out but they never do.

Just catching up as I was at a wedding yesterday. We looked brilliant on the extended highlights, good shape and pressing really well.
Lemon Drizzle Cake’s goal was an absolute stunner!
I think DC touched on the underlying numbers in his post match, where in the last 5-6 games we have underperformed our xG, but really made the most of key chances yesterday.
We’ve been Big Chance FC this season when you look at the numbers. That’s not to say we’ve been playing beyond ourselves (although we obviously did during the 12 game run) - but we have been excellent at creating two or three ‘big’ chances in games and then been ruthless in executing them.
So we haven’t necessarily had the dozens of chances you’d expect of high scoring sides, but maximised the chances we’ve created.

Surprisingly both managers came from Gateshead. Both like to dominate the ball and have good passages of play. Both play the 3421 formation. Both have terrible defenses but mk dons don't have a striker like Notts have Langstaff

There was at least one offside in the first half where the pass from the midfielder needed to be (and could have been) earlier and he’d have been away. It’s the nature of what he’s being asked to do so it bothers me a lot less than when players who aren’t being used that way and are constantly caught offside.

I believe there were visitors from Iceland and Nuneaton at EP today supporting the lads. I'm glad they got to see a County win and plenty of goals. I met one of the Iceland lads trying to bring 2 pints up in to the CE, luckily the Steward was understanding that he didn't know it wasn't allowed over here. on the topic of stewarding, what’s with all the ticket checks? Some young lad was trying to check all tickets for those in UT4/5. Even when coming back from a piss or whatever. Supervisor gave some rubbish about people not sitting in right seats and council shutting down part of the ground. But no issues in UT4/5 at all - plenty of free seats and only bother was 5hzt caused by the checks. Other minor gripe was Hi-hi coming on a bit soon after end of the match. Getting dangerously close to goal music stuff IMO.

Getting dangerously close to goal music stuff IMO. the club had been informed by fans that "hi-ho" song was coming on too late after the game as majority people leave at the final whistle (really wish we as a fanbase didn't leave so quickly) so they played it quickly after the game yesterday. Noticed there was no music as the players were walking out which is another thing the club have been told shouldn't be a thing. I think it's all about finding a balance and that's not going to happen straight away Regarding the stewards I can only assume the club are being extra careful regarding safety (even if everything is completely fine) due to the ground developments.
