Just watched a YouTube blog Dad n lad going round the grounds... they went to the game on Saturday in the railway end The young lad ...about 12 years old.. said he missed a load of the first half sheltering in the toilets he looked frozen They sacked it at half time said they were frozen and soaked Says it all to me I know its been open and exposed for its entire existence but its about time the club dropped the price a little for that area...what do they say ...for a better fan experience Yep that’s the one I was referring to earlier in the other thread👍

I think I remember (from reading the minutes) the question of a discount being asked in the last Coop meeting. I think it wasn't being considered as it'd mean having to offer reduced prices to away fans in line with some league/club agreement.

I think you may be right but I don’t believe their answer to be correct either. Pretty sure that rule is with regards to like for like facilities and the RE is the only stand without a roof.

Wasn't there a game this season where club staff/stewards were handing our ponchos to those in the railway end during torrential rain conditions?

Need a quick rethink here . Thats not acceptable as a paying experience on Saturday and hopefully the Club will put the customer first

Easy solution would be to offer all who bought tickets and endured the Railway End on Saturday a full refund. The club would barely notice the loss and would absolutely gain a fair bit of positive press for doing the right thing.

Would saving a few quid on the ticket price really make up for getting soaked wet through though ... "Oh yeh, went to County at the weekend and got absolutely drenched, froze my balls off, but it's OK as it only cost me a tenner for the privilege" ...

They were handing them out on the last game of the season v Pools last year. I got one to use as a seat cover rather than wearing, would have been different on Saturday I think!

Is there no way of getting a temporary cover over the stand considering it will be as is for a while? I'm no structural Engineer but I'm not sure it could be done without sticking posts in the view.

Not being funny but as long as it’s advertised as an open end and people are advised accordingly then the club can’t be blamed for the weather being shite. It might be a nice gesture to refund people but it’s a bit soft imo. It should deffo be priced a bit less as it’s a horrible place to be - even when it’s sunny you get blinded by the setting sun in the afternoon. However, even with it being say a fiver cheaper, would it really make much difference? It’s more of a gesture than anything else. I do think there’s a general point here about people not really being prepared. The forecast was shocking, if I was in that end on Saturday I would have been layered up and with full waterproofs on - or to be perfectly honest I wouldn’t have even been there had the RE been my only option. There’s loads of grounds with open ends in all sports and in places with worse weather than Stockport, it’s the persons responsibility to check the weather and come prepared.

Fair enough, can't really disagree with any of that.
