With just over a handful of games left, who’s yours?
Usually when a team’s season is coming towards the end and they’re in with a shout of being champions and looking well on course for promotion you’d have lots of candidates but with all the injuries and weird way we accumulated so many points in a short space of time it’s a bit of an odd one.
I’d say our best two players were Barry and MSH but neither can be considered on the amount of appearances made.
I think on performance and availability that leaves Hinchliffe, Horsfall, Pye and Tanto.
I should imagine Tanto will walk it based on his goal output despite starting the season poorly and then had that spell after our winning run where he looked out of sorts.
Ben and Fraser have been solid and consistent but I actually think Horsfall was better last season.
Pye could have pushed Tanto close for me but the injury that saw him miss seven games recently means he’ll have to settle for young player of the year I think.

Has to be Paddy. I was one who was writing him off at Christmas, but he's carried us through a very difficult few months & proven once again that experience & quality counts for everything. If he decides to stay for another season, i for one won't complain

I wonder how far ahead we'd be if Barry hadn't got injured. Probably be celebrating winning the league on Easter Monday.
There are a few players who looked good, then got injured at various points; Sarce, MSH, Pye. Then there's Bailey who looked excellent but hasn't hit the same heights as 2023 since rejoining permanently. Paddy has been integral as ever. Camps has had an excellent 2024. Horsfall is the best defender in the league by a mile.
I would put Ben in second, best keeper in the league and kept us in games numerous times, but for me Tanto just edges it.

Hinchliffe for me.
Plays every game, turns up every week and makes big saves, never has a poor game - there’s the odd flap/miskick but he never does anything like that donkey for MK Dons did at the weekend.
Massive saves against MK, Barrow, Bradford just off the top of my head.
He gets better every season.

Olaofe scoring 20 is sensational, but part of me thinks he should be closer to 30.
If he can stay onside more and we see more of the composure similar for his goal the other day then he’s off to the Championship ahead of us.

Two votes for Paddy… obviously should have put him on the poll.
He’s finishing the season well and I want him to stay this summer but he was a squad player for much of the the first half of the season so a bit surprised.

I know he’s a southern lad but he seems to be enjoying it up here and doubt he’d swap clubs if we were both in L1. I’d be surprised if a new contract offer wasn’t on the table this summer as well.

Camps is being a bit overlooked here I feel. He was poor last season, and I think that's filtered into the way he's been regarded this season, particularly as he's competing for a spot with Croasdale who's been a huge favourite since he's been here.
With that in mind, he's been a key player for us this season (with the same 'when fit' condition as applies to just about everyone else), and I'd say our best midfielder overall.

Last month or two, defo, but not had enough impact over the season. Similar to Bailey, but over different timeframes.
