I’m proper envious of those who can remember their first game. My Dad was lifting me over the turnstiles earlier than I can recall, probably circa 73/74. We still got him a season ticket this year but more in hope than reason as he’s had to go into a home for the rest of his days due to a rare form of dementia. I’m so full of gratitude that he, along with my Grandad, gave me and subsequently, my son, royal blue blood (although my first kit memory was the white Bukta shirt and blue shorts that we also wore for Banks Lane). Many, many amazing memories through the decades.

It was the Bournemouth Friday night game when the floodlights went off during Jim's pen.

Scunthorpe (h) 5-0 win. 91. The promotion game. I’d been to a couple of matches before that but that game made me realise what it meant to be a football fan and I’d found my club.

If you thought the home game was special, you should have been at Goodison...... It was an amazing game and an amazing atmosphere. The only occasion I ever bought the video of the game. 6k of us packed into that stand & a team performance to match, topped off by that Helliwell goal, which still ranks as the best i've seen County score

Did the same with my Dad & some 60's Sheffield Wednesday programmes, he could name every player & tell you who he'd signed from/been sold to...but struggled to know who i was

That game in terms of me becoming a County fan was probablly seeing them on TV win Boro 1-0. Was in floods of tears after that match and it was the moment for me in terms of feelings towards the club and realising I cared a lot about them (even though my first actual game at EP was a year or so before that match).
In terms of an actual experience at the stadium i'd go for the City 2-1 at Maine Road. By this time any pretence of supporting another team had gone and I was a rabid County fan, it felt utterly immense to be in an away end watching us beat City. Iconic stuff.

First game was a league cup tie against Sheffield Wednesday (my Dads team) in 1967. However, one of our neighbours was a big County fan & kept telling my Dad to 'get the lad down to Edgeley Park' & i think he managed to get us free tickets for a home game against Southport in '68, which i believe we won 3-0 in front of 12500. It was shortly after County had signed 'The Golden Vision' Alex Young, who'd been an Everton legend. The Granada cameras were there to cover the game & remember the black & white highlights on sunday afternoon with Gerald Sinstadt commentating, & i was pointing out to my Mum where me & my were sat in the old Cheadle End, just behind the goals. Up until then as a 6 year old, i'd idolised the United team of Best, Law & Charlton, but my Dad had refused to take me to a game at Old Trafford, so EP became the safer option.

First football game I ever attended. I think we beat Wolves 3 2. Winner possibly Ian Moore. Wolves defender trod on the ball and Moore slotted it home. My memory is very hazy though. The City game at Maine Road probably ignited my love for County though. I think I'd just been 'taking the kids' up to that point. But at that point I think I was hooked, lined, and sinkered. Not so long ago as some. Most of my youth (and young manhood) was taken up by playing in bands. IIRC, Moore was in the starting 11 that day but got stuck in traffic so was named on the bench. He came on as sub and bagged 2.

Toddy just loved a tussle like that...we'll gloss over his defending for their first goal, but his ball out to Beaumont for Helliwell's goal was just class

My old man took me to a few games prior, but the earliest memory that sticks in my mind is the opening day of the season 1991, we were at my grandma’s wedding and we all did a runner to county! All the uncles and cousins, and we beat Swansea 5-0!
