Felt more like a pre-season game than a proper game really, and can’t be too disappointed. Glad just to be back after being on holiday for Cambridge. Thought Onyango looked like a decent player, and keen to see more of him in a proper game. Fevrier lots of fun to watch too, and Camps really improved things when he came on. I also thought Hughes looked poor, even before the injury, but again, not really a game on which to judge him fairly. Of the kids, Mapengu and Okeke looked the most promising I thought. From the limited minutes I e seen of Hughes he doesn’t look very mobile.

It most certainly is unsustainable, yes. And we all need to stop pretending that it's normal or that it's just bad luck because it f*cking isn't. It's gone on for ages now and it's getting worse rather than better. It's ruined our pre season plans and we now find ourselves having to field a load of 16 year olds because of it, we're in August here for Christ's sake. Hughes just like Bate was an impact injury. Not sure there is anything you can do about that. There are obviously impact injuries in the mix which exacerbate things, that’s not the issue. Seven knee injuries all in pre-season though? That’s not chance. We all know people at the club will be despairing and wishing it wasn’t the way it is. That’s not helpful. They need to do whatever it takes to fix it. I don’t know whether that’s playing surfaces, training techniques, strength and conditioning coaches, all of the above, whatever. It just needs sorting because nights like tonight aren’t fair on anyone, and more importantly these levels of injury can massively jeopardise a season.

Anyone with half an idea... okay Challinor literally told everyone what he was going to do and how he expected it to go! Let's just move on, I don't agree with what we have done, each to their own and all that, the record will show a thumping at home nowt else.

I do wonder if moving Wright on might prove to be a big mistake.

Thought we did OK.
My only 'concern' is that the players disappeared off down the tunnel.
Personally thought the young lads did well against good opposition. Were never getting boo'd off. Deserved to take a clap and go off.

I can see the logic of why he's done it but I also agree that it's a bit of a pisstake for the fans, even at a tenner. It’s not though is it…? He literally told everyone on Saturday the team would be full of kids and he expected a difficult night. If people went tonight expecting anything other than a hiding/ pre season vibe then that’s on them not Challinor. Depends when they bought their tickets, and whether or not they were able to get a refund. Point taken, though - I suspect not many would have been after a refund at a tenner after his interview. Wonder how many thought they got value for money though?

Wow. What did you back to get such a winner? A mix of backing them straight up at 11/8 and -1.5 at 4/1. Also had a chunk on Blackburn to win and over 2.5 goals in the match at 2/1, then hovered up the money available on Betfair Exchange at Blackburn -2 7.6 and Blackburn -3 at 20 Blackpool paid for 😎

Onyango a big positive. Could be a good foil for Bate in midfield. Bate may be fine Best news of the night. Bring on Saturday.

Anyone with half an idea... okay Maybe his description is a bit harsh but how many on here put a bet on us getting beat as soon as DC mentioned the likely line up in Saturdays post match. Indeed but 6 at home, really......not like its new of course but with all the investment it is disappointing where our injuries put us here, something isn't right. I get it isn't just us, new mixed pitch types etc?

I think being 4-0 down inside half an hour is pretty humiliating for young players, yes. Doesn’t mean they’ve let themselves down, but it is nonetheless humiliating. You ask any of those kids to describe tonight I can guarantee you the word ‘humiliating’ will not come into their head. They’ve just played a professional football match against Championship opposition in front of a very supportive 5k. They’ll be absolutely buzzing and hungry for more. Most of them probably won’t make it as pros and they’ll remember this day into their old age.

Do you just choose to ignore the interviews/ fans forum where he clearly explained where we were in terms of fitness/ minutes in players…? It’s not rocket science that risking players who aren’t up to full speed (which is still a lot of the first team who played on Sat) with three games in a week would increase the likelihood of further injuries. We’ve done it every season since we got back in the league, this isn’t a one-off. We just treat it as a disposable thing and we’re clearly not arsed about it. Have we? First season beat Harrogate and lost to Leicester on penalties. Last season we were seconds away from beating Sheffield Wednesday, then lost on penalties. Tonight is just one of those but is the only one that fits your narrative there.

He doesn't start over Barry or Diamond. Not yet but given time maybe. He is definitely ahead of Barry Diamond in the pecking order!

You’d think he’d be glad with all the extra shirts to collect from tonight this should be like Christmas.
