Other top fact about Milmoor, it's still there, and despite the stadium being in a right state these days the pitch is still played on

Yep, defo Shadwell. Which is a real place in London, just south of Whitechapel. But I think the ground scenes for the film were all done at Millmoor. Correct Millmoor was used & the film was loosely based on on the experiences of James Bannon an undercover cop who infiltrated Millwall's firm. He wrote a book on his experience called 'Running with the firm'. Not a bad read. Millwall's firm was it? Fair enough. In my opinion, it was the only movie that got even close to the real hooligan problem that blighted English football in the 80's. Miles better that the awful 'Green Street." Didn't know it was loosely based on a real cops real experience and had no idea at all the ground scenes were shot at Millmoor. Might check out the book and I'll see if I can find the film to maybe watch it again. My point about Chelsea fans not knowing the history of their own club still stands though.

If you do you’ll see that the end that Dinsdale dives into for a spot of fisticuffs with the opposition is the same one he’s just left, lazy filmmaking

Shadwell Town. When Saturday Comes was another football film but not one about violence AFAIR. Sean Bean in that one. When Saturday Comes is a wonderful film, watched it constantly as a kid! Few dodgy bits like Sheffield United playing their FA Cup semi-final at home, but it’s a great film, with some great actors. Randomly, I was working with the guy who played Sean Bean’s brother in the film recently. He said that’s Sean’s favourite film of all the ones he’s done.

What do you expect when his side loses to the likes of Stockport County at home.

Blackpool fans are happy - fair enough Sadly, for him, It was clearly inevitable. You can’t get hammered at home by non-league upstarts and expect to keep your job. Losing to Stockport County?!? Oh my.

Ryan Lowe seems to be the early favourite & Pete Wild has been mentioned... There'll be a proper meltdown there if they appoint a failed Preston manager!
