Deserved that. Could have papered over the cracks otherwise.

On another note, Matterface getting the ITV top job over Tyldesley is just scandalous.

Newcastle do want to spend big but PSR. yeah thats keeping howe in that job to some degree Is it? Nearly 50% win percentage. Managed a 4th place and I'd say 7th (last season and current) is probably about right for Newcastle especially with what Chelsea have spent. If they do go all out, they'll expect more but I'd say he's done a good job. Edit - Or do they think they want to name a big name for the new(ish) project but don't have the spendable funds to attract one.

On another note, Matterface getting the ITV top job over Tyldesley is just scandalous. He’s even just copied Tyldesley’s ‘Greece is the word’ line from when they won Euro 2004. He’s so bad.

That was f*cking embarrassing.
People might not care about the Nations League, but that was just utterly humiliating.

All good though because Southgate should have been beating these teams anyway!

From that display, TAA and Lewis probably can't be our fullbacks together, especially with just Rice in front. Both want to roam and get on the ball. Both are excellent at it but it leaves us exposed. We needed an Ibou Touray tonight!
It was such an unbalanced starting XI. There's probably 3 (or 4 at a push) defensively minded players in there, including the keeper(!), as Rice likes to get forward for Arsenal too.
