That was Ian Lawson, Neil Matthews came from Halifax. Or Rob Matthews? He came from Bury, didn't he? Possibly, I forgot about him although I think Lawson was the one we paid a decent fee for. 150k or whatever it was was seen as a nominal fee back in those days, how times have changed. Rob Matthews didn't even look like a footballer did he thinking of it.

Why did it take us 2 years following the formation of the hall of fame to include Danny Bergara? Surely he must've been in the running to be in from the start? Elwood sticking his oar in maybe?

That was Ian Lawson, Neil Matthews came from Halifax. Don't you mean Rob Matthews? He was a winger signed by Megson from Bury, who always seemed to wear a strapping on his arm. Ian Lawson was an ok striker, also from Bury, that didn't play many games for us, nor score many goals. Neil Matthews, however, was a goal machine towards the end of the 90-91 season and helped us to promotion. Sorry, yes that's who I was thinking of, not Neil Matthews, sorry PSP

Chris Byrne, not be heard of for years has he? Maybe he got sent down without anyone noticing Think he got sent down for nicking boilers a few years back. I also remember something about a chemists getting done over that he was involved in. I remember Lancashire plod were after a chat with him about some boilers being nicked from a plumbers merchant in Burnley, wasn't sure they'd ever caught up with him though? The chemists was while he was still at County IIRC, out injured and on crutches so couldn't run away, not exactly the master criminal.

Before we know it he ll add himself for his revolutionary thinking and vision document! I got a response more or less straight away from him. The wheels are in motion, hopefully we'll see Super Al back before the end of the season. Nice one Suedehead.just need to get AA to put up a county clip as well as the Ipswich one on his academy website.

7:44 onwards still sends shivers down my spine every time I watch it. Every time. Look at his reaction at the end of the game too.

And when he scores in that clip, proper joy. Amazing.

And when he scores in that clip, proper joy. Amazing. Thanks for posting that, what a great video. I was there on the night but probably haven't seen the goals since. I remembered Ebbrell's though, I was gutted when that flew in. What an atmosphere as well, God if we could get half of that back it would be a thousand times better than now. I loved Super Al too, he was one of my childhood heroes. I might have a false impression but does anyone else remember him seeming to get noticeably faster one season?

I remmber that game well considering I was only 8 at the time. When the score was 2-2 my dad went to the payphone to tell my mum we'd be late home due to extra time. They scored the winner just as he got back. I think that was the first time I'd ever had that unique kick in the balls that only football can give you.
Little did I know....

Brilliant video that I missed that game I was living away and listened to it on the radio. Was gutted when Ebrell scored but forgot how many chances we had in that game. Brilliant era to be a county fan.

Stuart Barlow anyone? Don't remember him scoring too many but he really put a shift in. There was that photo of Rooney wearing his county shirt after the Everton game.
