Interesting to see Stockport Sports Trust (Life Leisure) have submitted an application to form a new club, starting out in the NWCFL, called Stockport City FC.
I'm told Rob Clare & Seb Rowe (both employees of SST) are fronting this application. They've already contacted a potential manager, telling him that there are 'substantial funds available'.
No doubt this club will play from SST recently purchased sports village down at Woodley.
Maybe these people, backed by former County investors Malcolm McPhail, Mike Clarke, Craig Sellers, Stewart Vann, all know a lot more than we do about County's 'future'......
This has all been hush hush for the last few months, but is now in the open due to them having to make a formal application to the FA.
Anybody know anymore about this?

Pretty sure we could start higher than that though like Chester did if we did go bump, surely?

Hmmmm....Stockport City...wonder if they need sponsors, free printing and embroidery, as I am fxxxed if I'm giving County a penny or an ounce of freebies if all that happens is digs and ridicule just because I am not keen on Jim. Getting quite sick of not being able to say how I feel.

Stockport isn't even a City though...name must be in question surely. Makes no sense.

Not worried about the name, the colours, the manager, their poxy ground, nothing.... as it will mean NOTHING, apart from the end of SCFC.

Stockport isn't even a City though...name must be in question surely. Makes no sense. Bloke near us said the same today, but that's the name put to the FA, and I was told that SST are backed (or run) by the council, and maybe they know more than we do, this new club starting up as county folds, and as the town receives city status.

Anyway forget the name, this IS happening. Those that once backed us have pulled out and are starting a new club in the town. That worries me, that tells me county is finished. We don't own the ground, no training facilities and a team worth nothing of any value. Debts up to our eyeballs, releasing the office staff, groundsman etc. we're being wound down, whilst these lot plot a new start! Absolutely criminal. I'll be speaking to Stu Holt tomorrow, he'll definitely know as new clubs in the borough nead to go through the district FA.

If it's the likes of Clark and Vann setting this up and we do fold, I do hope the Co-op can set up a real phoenix club, one with a decent name (Stockport City, f*cking seriously?) and hopefully we can place a bit higher with the Phoenix club status like Chester did rather than right at the bottom of the pyramid.

How can we be placed any higher? We are NON-LEAGUE now, the league directly below is the Evostik league, then it's the north west counties, which is what these guys have applied for. Why would a 'new county' get placed any higher than that?! Why would (should) a new club get placed above Cheadle Town or Woodley sports? I'm really, really peed off about this, the guys I spoke to are no mugs, and certainly no liars. They named Seb Rowe and Rob Clare and all the others, they had far too much detail to be making this up. This new club has applied, so that means paperwork has gone into the Cheshire FA. That means Stuart Holt will be aware, so I'll be asking him tomorrow.
