Kevin Cooper v Charlton at home.. think we whacked em 3-0 that day with Cooper scoring 2 (1 of them was ace, worked through their defence then curling it accross the keeper. Think Mutch got one as well but not 100%

Rotherham were flying as well when we beat them. Everyone else in the league was probably expecting us to lose and we tore them apart all game. Hadn't they just gone into administration, or were days away from it?

In recent years, Tommy Rowe both for Peterborough and Rotherham away. Probably the best two away games that year. This ^ One of the better periods in the football clubs history. Going to games like CB1883 mentions above were brilliant. We knew we were gonna get a win away from home. The atmosphere's would be brilliant. We'd take loads. It was just a great time to be a County fan IMHO. Whether that's an age thing as I wasn't really old enough to be going each week during the mid/late 90's I don't know, it was just ace looking forward to each game. Also going to places like Leyton Orient and stuffing them 3-1. Going to Hereford and MK Dons away in the space of a week and beating them both. A few of us were talking about this a few weeks ago, we don't even ask for much; we don't ask to win the Champions League and the F.A cup, we just want to be playing at a half decent level playing the likes of teams mentioned above. Lincoln away was another, when Poole lashed home from the edge of the area. They were right up there with us and we won, again, as we knew we would.

Adam Le Fondre when we beat Wrexham 5-2 (I think) and he got 4
Antony Elding at Brentford when he got his hattrick. One of another great away days that year.
Tony Dinning at Grimsby when he hammered in the free kick when it rebounded back off the wall.

Michael Raines vs Oldham at home. One of my favourite home games in the last 10 years, possibly ever. Lobbing the keeper to make it 3-1. Oh I'm getting goosebumps. That atmosphere... Brilliant game.

That was Keith Briggs at Grimsby. So it was. For a 22 year old I have a shocking memory.

No one mentioned the only Wembley victory?
Dickinson surely? Although it could have been any of the 11 his goal summed up our season.

Think of that period over those years.
Bury away (1-0) Chester away (2-1) Wrexham away (1-0) - they were all fantastic days/nights and Dickinson sums up all those.

Think Mutch got one as well but not 100% Nah, got to be the penalty against Bristol Rovers when no bugger else wanted it. Showed so much bottle, and it was a defining goal of the run-in. If he'd missed it, we wouldn't have gone up. That said, how about a goal against County to define him? When he scored for Wimbledon after about 3 seconds and looked utterly pissed off. Didn't want to know about celebrating.
