Also, surely Dinning's defining goal was the piss-taking penalty against Citeh? We're not just after favourite/spectacular goals here, but goals which defined their County careers, no?
That said, I've just realised the title refers to games, not goals, so I'll shut up now.

At the other end of the scale, Phil Kite against Bolton at Burnden Park in about 93.

It's difficult to remember a players defining game without a goal as the outcome.
Andy Kilner at home v. Torquay is one of those moments.

Might seem weird but the first game I think of with Dicko is a crucial Tuesday night win over Bury the year Gannon kept us up. Horrible night, middle of the pitch was pretty much dark. Kasper Schmiechel kept Bury in it in the first half but about 10 mins from the end Dicko ran on to a through ball and smashed it in at the County fans end. A full on 'mental' ensued! Was just as important as Oxford at home (late winner from Tes Bramble from the spot) in keeping us up.

Rotherham were flying as well when we beat them. Everyone else in the league was probably expecting us to lose and we tore them apart all game. I had completely forgotten about the Leyton Orient game. I somehow managed to miss all 3 goals. Wonder if that's ever been done before? Agree 100% the Orient game was fantastic flowing football.

I will stand corrected, but I'm sure Tes had a lot to do with it, thinking about it maybe he won the pen? I was on the Railway End that day, for some reason, was there some kind of deal on, maybe? It was definitely at the Railway End unless early onset dementia is kicking in here!

Hadn't they just gone into administration, or were days away from it? Don't think they were in damn at that point and they were indeed flying but we absolutely hammered them with a majestic performance from Rowe.....after that game you just knew we were going up !

Yeah that was a great game, me and my Dad skived off parents evening, leaving my Mum to get a stream of abuse from my German teacher, whilst we celebrated the win. I think Bury had a late goal disallowed in that one too?

It was definitely at the Railway End unless early onset dementia is kicking in here! There was a £5 deal on for students. I too was in the Railway End, such was my desperation to save £5 or £6.

Yep, seem to remember that too, we had all finished celebrating only to see the ball fall in the net and everyone shit it until we realised it had not been given. Can't remember what for though.. Great night though that.

I think they did. Mark Robinson also cleared about four or five shots off the line in games around that period too, including one late on at Gigg Lane.
