If it opens for both the pop and CE then how do they ensure people head back to the right stand afterwards without forcing everyone to show their ticket (which will result in queues)? Hopefully if games are sellouts or near sellouts people will police themselves and not be dicks about it. I'd also like to think that the club will clamo down by throwing people out for the game / issuing short-term bans if people are found to be in the incorrect stand in such circumstances. Looks like Moonbird can have a gasper as well.

Been thinking they should do something like this for a few years now, a great move by the club! Hopefully offer some decent fayre & also ease congestion at the regular outlets. Also as Vicar alluded to hopefully it allows a smoking area with it being mostly open air, yes I know it's a filthy dirty habit (& that's coming from a being a smoker myself) but always found it silly that County haven't allowed people a small smoking area near the open air bit at the Cheadle end turnstiles. Halifax had a designated area at the back of the away stand & Notts County let people out into a cordoned area at half time, a sensible approach IMO. Some will no doubt say 'why can't you go 2 hours without a cig?' well if you're a smoker you tend to get irritable if you're denied an opportunity to smoke, especially in stressful situations which County can often be! providing a designated area in the open air will stop people doing it in the stands, under the concourse & in the toilets.

Each to their own but for me i have no interest in a dedicated new food outlet whatsoever.Surely i cannot be the only one whose sole interest in EP is coming to watch football in the hope of a County victory.

See the big plus of this being somewhere to go pre match (if the the weather is decent). Sort of like a fan park or something.
I’ve long thought that we’ve been missing out big time by not making EP the sort of place where you could arrive an hour before kick off and actually spend some time at.

We all go there with that hope timberwolf! but times have changed. County are attracting new clientele who maybe expect a bit more from their matchday experience, It also offers another opportunity for the club to increase matchday revenue & coupled with peoples general increase in interest in all things foodie nowadays (look at the popularity of foodie friday) along with the great number of good local artisans in that field I can only see it being a good thing.

Not knocking the idea totally but its just not for me. Be interested what percentage of fans eat or drink in the ground is anyway. Over the years its a subject that regularly gets plenty of discussion, but i,m yet to be convinced its everyones priority at any time. I,m quite prepared to be proven wrong but i do think the majority of fans would agree with me on this even if the rest of those who contibute to this discussion on here do not.

The number of people who eat and buy food at the ground is going to be far higher than you imagine. Go into the Cheadle End at half time, it's mental. It's a great idea. The club need to be sustainable and bringing in something like this will provide huge sums of money. It'll be full every week, no doubt.

It's a great idea, I haven't bothered for years due to the poor quality and last game I was daft enough to try again, manic with the usual idiots pushing in and some even stealing beer! Not good for my blood pressure at all. This might be a game changer in terms of capacity and I might again risk a half time pint but for now I'm back to not being bothered.

Interestingly Runaway Brewery have retweeted the County story about the food court. They’d be a cracking addition for beer!

If there was 1 in 5 trying to get something in the CE at half time that would mean about 1,000 fans in that small space. Its a few seasons since i was in there but that seems a lot of bodies in such a small space. Possibly it will be full every week, well until the reality of bills come in to bite people in the arse. For some sharing a bag of chips from the friery will become a treat instead of overpriced footy ground grub.

Pitch inspection at Coventry City, because of the state of the playing surface after the Commonwealth Games Rugby 7's were held there...thank god we'll never have to go through anything similar in my lifetime !

Back in the old championship days we used to get in the ground about 1.45, have a couple of pints and a pie then head to our seats but these days I don't go anywhere near the food and drink in the Cheadle end thanks to the chaos, I'd quite like another option if the beer and food was decent.
