Anyone know if the refurbishment has started on the cheadle end? Should have been the beer festival this weekend but it was to be brought forward due to refurbishment works.

One of the stadium maintenance staff mentioned on Twitter a couple of weeks back that work was proceeding as normal over the summer. I don't think we'll get to see what's going on until it's done though.

I hope we have nice cushioned seats and an app is available where we can order high quality food and drinks to be delivered to our seats.

Good to know. The exterior of the CE looks tired. The exit/entrance steps in red are more light pink now. Be nice to see them spruced up. Plenty of time at the moment too. Keep thinking we could have half a new stand on the way too whilst things are on hold.

there is so much to do at EP its hard to say where do you actually start. even the newest part of our ground is over 25 years old how with any fan under 30 can only remember the ground in its present state. underneath the CE might bring more money into the club where other parts of the ground do not. still not sure we need a 20,000 capacity ground that has been mentioned months ago.

20,000 capacity to me is pie in the sky, unless it's meant to accommodate larger crowds at the summer concerts (assuming they become a regular fixture)

20,000 capacity to me is pie in the sky, unless it's meant to accommodate larger crowds at the summer concerts (assuming they become a regular fixture) 15K regular capacity is more than enough. For larger crowds, there's a sizeable grass area to put them on!
Personally, I've no idea what is planned or currently being carried out, if anything. But it would surely be a good thing if the club could publicise any plans (which various folk, at the time of the takeover, claimed to have seen, and to have been very impressed by).
So: how about sharing the plans, and showing regular illustrated updates of any progress made? I appreciate plans may change as things develop... but to me, no info suggests no progress... or a PR operation which is not yet up to speed on the subject.
As I've said before, any expansion of the ground, particularly at the Railway end, would surely involve some land purchase/exchange. (The Bungalow, the bowling club, and a bit of the land apparently reserved for Stockport Homes). Hard to see any possibility of expansion beyond the current footprint without this happening.
I'd also suggest that any expansion or rebuild should include some proper safe standing areas, including in areas designated for away fans. It's happening already on a very large scale at other clubs (recently at Wolves and Spurs, for example) so why not at EP?
To summarise: we need more info, on both plans and progress. Now!

I agree about the CE refurbishment. I think any stadium redevelopments are way off so I'm putting them aside for a minute, except to say that fan involvement in those plans is absolutely crucial and a non-negotiable for me. I'm not too fussed about big consultations for the suites at the CE or a new entrance, but why not share details? If the plans and mock ups of the new front and new suites are available, I don't get why they wouldn't share them online? It's exciting, gives us something to look forward to.

Well the owners own EP not the supporters and they will do what they want and will tell us as and when they choose to. They are under no obligation to involve us at all and we can demand nothing. We can ask nicely, beg, suggest etc but thats all and if they want to ignore us there is nothing to stop them.
As for standing areas well IMO thats a 100% no go whatever given the new norm of social distancing, which could be with us for generations.

Even if the council own EP there is no way they would do anything without the sanction of the club owners.Im sure they would have a written contract.Countys new owners are very very savvy businessmen.
Im sure however that the supporters would be advised and possibly even asked for opinions as its always better to make you "enemies" become friends than making them more aggressive "enemies" I think.

I believe that the work to be carried out was on the function rooms, toilets and CE bar, basically everything underneath the CE!
