Whilst Mark Stott owns the club he can do what he wants to be fair. If he carries on ploughing cash in and getting us back where we belong I couldn’t care less what he puts on the seats. I am with you on this one I just think whatever the new custodians do it will be of the highest quality and for the right intensions A tidy refurbishment stadium can only be good news no matter how many or what color the seats...mind you claret and blue would be a bit hard to take

Of course he can do what he wants. Doesn’t change me thinking that sponsors on seats looks tacky. I don’t think he gives a flying what I think, and nor should he; probably. we needs his money but do not need stuff likes sponsors nams and multi coloured seats about the place. know someone mentioned white seats. the only problem with white is that they will need a good regular cleaning unless you want to be like bradford p.a. where near the back these are really filthy and need a good shower when you get back home.

Wow, look at that shade of blue compared to what is already there. Wonder if that 'TICKETS' structure will be kept?

Because it isn't finished yet. Look at the training ground, everyone knew what was coming but the club didn't announce it until all the work was done and the press shots could show how good it looked. This will be the same.

I saw there was a bit of activity as well, they were there early this morning. Also work going on around the railway end by the look of things.

Found this on the web. I never knew that Sale Sharks had extended the pitch at EP back in 2003!
Looks like quite a slice was taken off the Railway end, which had only just recently had seats fitted on the original terracing, in 2001. And when did those seats in the corner disappear?

Looks like they removed some of the walkway at the front of the RE to extend the run in area they have behind the rugby posts. Doesn’t appear to have affected the seating capacity but would have presumably extended the length of the pitch for football.

Great spot edinburgh, mind slightly blown by that. Just had a look on google earth and you can clearly see the difference in where the pitch ends post 2003. Also in that corner there was for time that tv studio box thing which I had forgotten about.

Look to be fewer than 100 seats in the corner, and I'm not sure what the view toward the Cheadle end would be like... but it might be worth replacing them too.
It was a real shame that County didn't bother from the start to cover the seats when they were not actually being used (which when you work it out, is about 362 out of 365 days every year!)
I appreciate that deliberate vandalism, and also simply standing in seated areas that were not designed for it, won't have helped, but unnecessary exposure to the weather over 15+ years must have been a major contributing factor in the decay of the Railway end. The successful use of the large adverts as covers over the last couple of years only highlights how penny-pinching and lack of imagination actually leads to much higher costs in the long run.

Never knew we had seats in the Railway End/Vernon corner! Good idea to take them out, can't imagine the view towards the Cheadle End was very good from there. 8.3.0

Just been past EP on the train, one thing that should go is that tatty Scandia hoarding on the back of the Popside. Looks grim. Terrible cash and carry fodder too. Yeah, very 2005. Needs replacing, especially as they don't sponsor the club anymore. A Pioneer Group or Vita one will be up there in the future I would imagine. 8.3.0

Doesn’t appear to have affected the seating capacity but would have presumably extended the length of the pitch for football. I believe at the Cheadle End they only increased it so it reached the hoardings whereas before there was about a metre gap between the end of the pitch and the hoardings. More was gained at the Railway end but it was still only a few metres. I don’t think it’s actually made a huge (if any) difference to the length of pitch we use for football as that was when we switched from the free standing style of goalpost (the ones with a sort of c shape at the top the net hangs off) to the larger more modern rear stanchioned socketed style which takes up significantly more space.
