Anyone watching Brentford - Wycombe on Sky*? Those random coloured seats looks smart. Miles better than the single colour blocks.
*Sorry, SKY

Multi-coloured seats in the New Stadium
March 8, 2019 Adam Hobbs
The issue of multi-coloured seats in the new stadiuhm was discussed at our committee meeting last night and we would like to provide an update on this. We have challenged the club on several occasions as part of the Fan Consultation groups that met last year, as well the recent focus groups.
We were informed at the time that this is to do with the look of the stand on TV to ensure that the stadium appears full. At the recent Heritage and Legacy Focus Group we were informed that the decision is set and cannot now be altered.
I don't think it would look good at EP

It's all subjective of course, but speckled seating always looks awful to me, whether it's Brentford, or York's new place. The theory is that it's meant to make the place look more full even when it isn't - first of all, knowing that kind of ruins any pretence behind the illusion, second of all, if you're that concerned about being unable to fill the ground whilst you're still at the seat-fitting stage, then maybe you shouldn't have built it so big in the first place? New stadiums like Brighton allowed incremental increases in capacity. That's what you should aim for if you're uncertain about the final capacity, instead of leaving yourselves open to ridicule & spoiling the identity of your ground.

Much easier to replace different coloured seats too over the years, as they do tend to fade and you end up with different shades of blue anyway.

All white seats would prevent the fade being so obvious. Have SCFC in blue to have blue so it’s a reverse of how it is now. I think with how prominent the sponsorship boards are we’ll see VITA in the seats at some point too, probably of the new Pop Side once it’s done.
Looking at match highlights from 2005/06 the seats in the Railway End looked a handful of shades darker than they do now. Really shows the level of fading since then.

I hope we don’t have VITA in the seats. I don’t like the idea of a sponsor in the seats and Stott won’t own us forever.

Not sure I think what makes that look worse than it is are the bottom of the blue seats being white. Either that or I'm well in need of a trip down to Specsavers.

If Stott left and VITA ended any involvement then all it would take to get rid is a small number of seats being changed.

With the fade you’d have to replace the whole bank, otherwise you’d just see VITA in a different shade.

The seats at the top of the Cheadle End for example are far less faded than those in the lower tiers. The seats in the Railway End that are open to all the elements have faded much quicker than anywhere else.

And tbh I generally think sponsors in the seats looks tacky and shouldn’t be done, aside from any practical issues that may arise.

Just been past EP on the train, one thing that should go is that tatty Scandia hoarding on the back of the Popside. Looks grim. Terrible cash and carry fodder too.

Whilst Mark Stott owns the club he can do what he wants to be fair. If he carries on ploughing cash in and getting us back where we belong I couldn’t care less what he puts on the seats. Of course he can do what he wants. Doesn’t change me thinking that sponsors on seats looks tacky. I don’t think he gives a flying what I think, and nor should he; probably.
