How can some networks get on it quicker than others then if thats the case? I'm no techno person but one lad behind us has all the scores as they fly in, others (inc me) can be waiting a full half for results apps/betting accounts to show live scores...?? There’s some masts on the Cheadle End itself aren’t there? Presumably owned by better performing networks Possibly but not necessarily. My understanding (admittedly from 2 decades ago dealing with applications for such things) is that, as noted, capacity isn't the same as coverage but also that your area of highest intensity for the signal isn't necessarily the closest area to the bit of kit. It also essentially works on a 'line of sight' basis (not quite literally - it's not semaphore), which is why you need a network of masts. It all adds up to the scenario that I might be on O2 and there might be O2 kit on the CE roof, but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm in the best place to get a good signal when I'm out the back of the Pop Side at halftime. Until O2 sort the capacity issue, I would be grateful if the rest of you could stay off the O2 network during games, and especially at halftime, so that I'm able to access Flashscore. Your co-operation on this matter is appreciated.

Can we just be clear that the problem in EP isn’t signal, its capacity. You’d still be able to use your phone to make a call, or use data if you were sat in the Cheadle End at 2pm on a Thursday afternoon. Edgeley is well covered by the main networks. The issue is the capacity of the network when there’s 8-10k people all fighting to use it at once. Same as when you’re at most big sporting events, sometimes in a busy station etc. How can some networks get on it quicker than others then if thats the case? I'm no techno person but one lad behind us has all the scores as they fly in, others (inc me) can be waiting a full half for results apps/betting accounts to show live scores...?? Because there isn't just a single network. EE will have a more powerful network with greater capacity than 3, for example. EE might be able to handle 50k customers without any issues, 3 might shit itself after 2k.

I’ve been on the 3 network directly for 17 years (and more recently branded as Smarty) and it has never worked at County, not even in preseason games

I'll be interested to see how it works in practice. With Sky taking over, will they still use the single camera and local commentator, with automated "last five seconds" replays? Or will they throw a bit more money at it, protecting their brand? I think it tended to be single camera when they offered all the Championship games behind the red button a few seasons ago, but maybe things have moved on a bit? Best thing for me, as a Sky subscriber (via Virgin) is the fact that it'll come through the cable to my telly, so there won't be any buffering. Re County and overseas, if we're still in charge of that, it'll be easy enough to stream the feed and add Jon K over the top I suspect. (sorry, SKY) Can't remember the exact details but read it was something like L2 single camera, L1 maybe two cameras? And yeah, some local/junior commentator. It'll be much like streaming games in Covid. There won't be pre-match studio stuff, big names building up to the games, multiple angles, recognised commentators etc except when we're an actual Sky game, rather than behind the red button (or however they do it). Actually its sounding better by the minute for someone like me who swerves the pre match yap anyway. Not bothered by a single camera either as watching live you only have a single pair of eyes to watch. On the whole i,d rather listen to JK and our co commentator than a so called neutral like in the old days of BT sports.

As long as they drop the 10 second replay of a build up to a corner that means I haven't seen a corner we've faced for the last 2 seasons at least I'll be happy

During Covid, clubs essentially had to build a broadcast system from scratch, and some were better than others (remember one that I think used a phone in the early days of Covid, away at one of the function-room clubs we played in those days). Most got better, but they're still more skilled amateur than professional broadcaster - hence the "replay" which is just the last few seconds once a button's pressed, rather than proper vision mixing. I suspect it'll remain much the same as before, and Sky (sorry SKY) will take the same feed and chuck it out over their platform, but it would be great if we saw some real improvements, good though the job is that we've done to date.

Apparently we’ve got four cameras for games at EP next season, not the two I mentioned yesterday.

Well we will be paying 50% more for them broadcasting it against what the club did so you would expect an improvement on something that varied from club to club.

I'm Voadfone and never had an issue with data/service at EP, although my brother does on his network and therefore uses me as a hotspot
