Alan Shearer wow that will cure my insomnia. 🛏️😴 The price seems very steep especially compared to what they asked for somebody Country fans really wanted to see, Big Kev. More for the general sporting public of the area than just just us.

Dont know where else to put this but another sign we are a million miles from where ww were and not the first time this has happened With my limited knowledge of Carrington, I assume this would have been planned for a while and not just as a result of our postponement ? e.g. we can accommodate this type of visitor alongside the full First Team in for training? I think initiatives like this and hosting the recent youth international are strokes of genius by the club. It increases our profile to some of these players and they may be more inclined to sign for us in the future. Of course it may never materialise and it's still money into the club but I like the way we market ourselves to players/clubs. We really do need to get on with increasing capacity to support all the other good work going on at the club.

When the Main Stand is extended, how far towards the CE will it go? Could we end up with a situation where people would not be able to leave the ground via the front of the CE?
It would cause a lot more congestion, but would improve the atmosphere at the end of a game if people are less keen to leave their seats before the game ends. It always looks crap with loads of empty seats afor the last 5 minutes.

Edited to add: This relates to the full part of the application. Later phases of ground development are proposed to include an extension of the Main Stand towards the CE, currently proposed in outline.

I thought both ends were being expanded, RE side first during the first phase of the build and then the CE side later on

There was a plan/suggestion that it could also be extended at the CE of the ground but iirc inly after all other proposals were complete.

Apologies. The later phase may do, yes (and I'll edit my previous post to make that clear). The full part of the application is just for the Railway End extension for niw. The Outline element does include an extension at the Cheadle End but as it's Outline there are no details on the extent of it at this stage.

Any news on a date for the application to be considered by the council yet?

Also, for those with better knowledge of how these things work, how does it go with appeals? Does anyone have the right to object and delay the process after a successful application?

I won't comment specifically on this application, but in general terms there is no third party right of appeal. So an applicant can appeal a refusal (or non-determination or against conditions imposed on a permission) but no-one else can appeal an approval. What can happen is judicial review of a decision by a third party, but this has to be against the legality of the decision, not the planning merits of the case. So essentially the decision maker (usually whoever the local planning authority is) has to have made a legal mistake.

Hopefully will still have some toilet and catering facilities in the main stand During the works . There was a season in the championship that there was no gents toilets most the season 🤦♂️.
Interested to see how it impacts the area around the food outlet / toilets and the ground control office and disabled section presume It will be relocated as part of the development.
The other side towards the Cheadle end has the lounges and The patio doors / balcony where it seems VIPs often watch from .

An extension at the CEwould only come after a redeveloped pop side so the VIP area in the main stand would become defunct.

Any news on a date for the application to be considered by the council yet? Thats the big question. Just feel this ground extention is going to take longer to complete than many expect or want.
