I took my daughter at 5 and I think you're right about that being the right age. First game was the 5-1 against FC United, so at least it was a decent one to keep her attention. Even now (well, 15 months ago), she gets a bit bored by the slower games but she loves the spectacle of being there. she,s not on her own mate. i,m the same at 74 years 6 months.

I'd love to take my eldest to an away game at Woking or Eastleigh, but knowing her she'd spend the entire match trying to climb over the hoardings and join in.
She'd also come home swearing like a trooper.

As much as I'd like to take my lad at 2.5 years old it would just be a ball ache and he'd have no interest in the game at all, for that reason it'll be a while until he starts joining me at games. I took my daughter at six weeks and my lad at 15 days. Dead easy at that age as they're strapped to you and pretty much sleep all the way through it. Took my daughter again (as punishment for staying out too late the night before) a few times when she was about 9 months and that was just about manageable but wouldn't take either of them again now until they're at least 5/6, exactly the same reasons as you. Took my lad when he was three (he's 18 now), absolute nightmare in the CE as he was up and down all game. Got seats in the DB stand the game after and he spent the game running up and down the slope next to the big gates in the CE/DB stand corner! 8.7.3

Saw this on Twitter today, rear view of the scoreboard. She's a big 'un.

You could see all the extra panels at the front of the RE at the D+R game... looks like it's all taking shape now.

Not too young to go buddy. Mine have been going since 3 months old. Others started even earlier! As much as I'd like to take my lad at 2.5 years old it would just be a ball ache and he'd have no interest in the game at all, for that reason it'll be a while until he starts joining me at games. Pre-Covid the kids loved running around the CE bar and seeing Vernon Bear. Sweeties help too of course and they love the singing. I must admit I am in two minds about attending the Woking game. Sounds like it is going to be a right rigmarole.

Hard to see for all the electrical clutter in the foreground... but it looks as though the banking outside the fence at the Railway end (at least from the Pop side corner, maybe as far as the scoreboard) has been cleared of vegetation and tidied up a bit. Wonder if the containers are still sitting on the old bowling green?

This was taken on 5 April, so those trees behind the Railway end have really put on some leaf in just 6 weeks!
Obviously it must be down to perspective (or an optical illusion) but every time you see a game streamed from EP, those new houses look as though they're literally just over the fence... whereas in reality they're about 50 yards further away. Interesting cleared space behind the RE/Pop side corner, though!

Saw this on Twitter today, rear view of the scoreboard. She's a big 'un. Given that it's (I assume) a screen and not a scoreboard as such, the bigger the better. If it's going to be showing replays, you'll want to see them from the back of the CE.

Iโve heard a few say that the steps/exit route that way is completely clear and operational now, guess would make sense with the additional covid measures

I've walked up and down it a few times.

All that Railway End needs now is an Arch like roof... Not ITK just think that would look pretty smart ๐๐๐
