I don't think anyone is trying to make them look ridiculous, they are doing that themselves with all that North Korea, you're all nazis, stamping and screaming. Including personal abuse sent anonymously to admin.
They are grown men in the time of a global crisis; it's the format of a messageboard. I still respect them though.

“get a one way ticket to Europe”.
Sadly I hear similar comments over here, all the time. “If you hate America so much, then leave”. Different context, different people but same bigoted view of life.

Just had a rare visit to Marion's and got into a discussion about freedom of movement, some people still think it only applies to people coming to the UK but things will carry on just as they are for us living and working where we want, people just don't see what they've given away. This board is the future hands down but have found myself swaying back over there for a bit of balance when it comes to politics. This place is like a one way street.

I don’t think one way street is accurate. I think most on here would welcome balance if it was sensible. However bigotry appears to be more accepted on the other one. The other night someone wrote on here the Burnley plane banner was “a breath of fresh air”. Thankfully it was removed.

I think a different point of view makes for a better debate but not that different.

Typical 60+ Tory voter mentality, 'I'm all right, Jack', without having the facts to back up their blinkered views. as a 70+ non tory voter i can say i,m all right jack as freedom of movement does not concern me one little bit. no interest or will to go or live abroad or bothered. where anyone comes from who does work for me is hardly relevant either to me.

I'm also alright Jack as I can get Spanish residency through my other half being Danish and an EU passport holder, I just don't like that we've taken away the opportunities from our young people, opportunities we took for granted, in fact I hate it.

I used to have a similar, I’m all right jack attitude to other issues over here, notably healthcare. I’m fortunate to work for an employer who provides me and my family with a very nice health plan with nice facilities and quick wait times at an affordable cost (to me). As long as I’m taken care of I wasn’t really bothered about anyone else. I even argued the toss with UK friends and family about it and got irate at the progressive left like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren for wanting to scrap my health plan for universal coverage. I was also influenced by the industry I work in (finance) taking a dim view of change and an office full of Republicans in my ear. Then recent events in the world have honestly made me take a step back from my own selfish thought process and realise it’s not about me. I’ve definitely had a bit of a wake up call recently. In terms of freedom of movement I voted to remain via proxy even though it didn’t affect me, as I tried to put myself in the shoes of a younger person who it did affect and remember my younger self who absolutely loved the option of living and working abroad, even if I never took advantage of it, I knew the option was there. That’s the biggest downside to Brexit for me.

I went traveling to New Zealand with a few mates after college and the first place we lived was a hostel in Wellington. It had its own bar and the barmaid was Danish. We used to think she was the most beautiful girl we’d ever seen and used to sit at the bar for hours staring at her like a bunch of cavemen and desperately trying to make her laugh. Then we met this group of Danish girls somewhere and they were all unbelievable. We came to the conclusion that the Danes were the best looking on the planet. In summary Vicar, all I can really say is, well done.

Expected reaction, then silence once it was confirmed it wasn't a terrorist incident. The setup of this board would have meant the subject was revisited at that point but I'm not sure that's the only reason it wasn't over there.

No surprise to see you have a go at the other board again. Didn’t you once promise never to post on there again only to return when you had something to sell/promote. And as you say it was on this board (not the other one) where the comment about “breath of fresh air was made. It might not be a one way street on here but the majority of traffic definitely flows in one direction.
