I,d guess they vote for them because they might always have done so and in their eyes labour are still a left wing party. For many though they have no love for the current labour party but just voting that way to rid them of the tories for a few years. They,ll be back voting the other way as labour are bound to make mistakes that they do not like. It does seem like an endless cycle of the least worst choice, I can't say I particularly like Starmer however the alternative is worse 🙄 it's been done to death but our voting system needs reform so for instance if it is your thing/ethos a vote for Green might actually be worth something. Actually the more people you speak to the more who are in favour of PR than there once was. They feel their true home is in one of the smaller party,s but still feel they are a waste of a vote so either they abstain or vote against the one they dislike the most. On top of that there is too much attention given to party leaders than what the rest of the party stands for.

I'm a tactical voting Socialist (HG constituency), but would maybe inclined to vote green in a PR system. I'm not a tree hugger either, just love wildlife etc. Not the type of wildlife at the back of the popside though 🐀😆

PR might also persuade more people to actually bother voting as their vote can have more impact. Unfortunately the turkeys won't vote for Christmas so can't see it happening soon.

Over the years I’ve come to wonder if PR alone will help people feel like their vote makes a difference. I think we need more devolution to the regions as well. Stop the current London love-in

Its just that name that will always put me off them and force me to listen to them.

Stop the current London love-in Do not think its a london love in just because the national government sits there. If there is an argument against devolved regions the last few years looking at wales and scotland should show what can happen. Taking just england as a whole i think its problems are across the whole country and not too many regional variations.

Yes and the welsh are not over keen about cardiff becoming what many english feel about london. Unless things have changed in scotland i doubt many from glasgow like their parliament being in edinburgh. What will come next, wales and scotland themselves being split up into regions themselves with more money screwed out of those living there for just another tier of someone running our lives.

The last general election gives a pretty good indication of the view the people of Scotland and Wales had of the government in Westminster, they seem to disagree with you

I respectfully -00% disagree with you. All the infra spend goes in London. The Hs debacle was all about allowing Brummies to commute into London hence why it was never coming here. The more local the democracy the better.

Regarding newts, I am sure some of our fans could have a drinking contest with them, and win.
