I could have put this in the political thread but I didn’t want to upset anyone that I was including this imbecile in sensible debate. I also think he’d be pleased to know a new thread was created just for him. Even by his standards, the last few days have been toxic and divisive. Today he’s doubling down on his stance on BLM by labeling plans to paint a mural on a New York Street as “a symbol of hate”. A few months ago I thought he was nailed on to be re-elected, for all the reasons he champions so often, strong economy and low unemployment. Now not only have those two things drastically changed, he’s also back to his old tricks of stoking social divides and for the first time in his presidency, I’m finally at a point where I think it will cost him and he will lose the election. I also think there are a few twists and turns to come and undoubtedly a few tricks up his sleeve. The hatred in the air over here at the moment is palpable. I often seen posts asking “are Americans really that stupid?” Well yeah, some are but I had an interesting conversation with a neighbor the other day and I’d welcome any feedback or alternative view on this, as I know Juan has been bemoaning the “one way street” of opinion on here. I was commenting that the pride Americans take in their country and flag is quite unique. The insisting of singing the national anthem at every single event and the countless flags hanging on suburban streets like mine. I can’t think of many other countries where it’s similar and I can’t help feeling it clouds people’s senses when it comes to the president. All this “f*ck yeah, America” kind of attitude and people saying he’s just upholding American values and protecting its citizens. To me he’s nothing more than a game show host, has no interest in being a President or doing anything for the sake of its citizens. Just a massive power trip. I’m registered to vote as a citizen for the first time this November. I’ll be in utter despair if he somehow wins again. Before anyone says yeah but Joe Biden sniffs kids hair and creepily puts his hand on women’s side boob during photo ops, yeah he does but I’ll take anyone at this point.

I’m not going to get in to a political debate on here but if I was living in America, I would 100% be voting for Trump.
The deep state are doing all they can to get Biden into power. Stirring up the race divide being the most recent.
It doesn’t make the mainstream media but Trump has been trying to make everyone aware of what the Clintons, Epstein etc get up to

I think the bigger concern with Biden is the signs of dementia he’s been showing.
I can’t see the fact that the choice is between two different sex pests being a major issue, but it will affect Biden more due to the cultural factors at play - Trump supporters already know they are ‘deplorable’, whereas democrat politicians feel they are morally superior, hence any hint of racism / sexism etc is worse.
What are the chances of Trump being able to persuade the Supreme Court to postpone the election until the pandemic is under control?

That’s what I don’t understand. People put their own “it doesn’t affect me” attitude ahead of their own integrity and moral fiber.

The lack of critical thinking in so many people these days is staggering. Now more than ever we have to be sceptical about everything we read, however it seems that people are more gullible than ever.

No elections means congress decides the presidency. As a third of Congress is up for re-election as well, if there are no elections I believe the Democrats would have control (based on who’s facing election). Biden is a dreadful candidate but his campaign team know this, so like in the primaries they’re mostly keeping him out of the public eye and it’s working for him; if polling is to be believed. As for this idea floated above that somehow Trump is anti establishment and the “deep state” doesn’t like him... hahaha. He is just as corrupt and in bed with corporate America as his predecessors.

Edit- managed to double post instead of making an edit. What I meant to add was that the election will happen in November. The thing Trump is pushing for is to reduce the ability for people to absentee vote. He knows his supporters will show up coronavirus or not so he doesn’t want to give the other side those who want to vote remotely.

He is just as corrupt and in bed with corporate America as his predecessors. Best part is Trump 'trying to show the world what Epstein was up to'. If anything Trump is doing his best to keep that information away from the public eye, considering some of the legal documents that have leaked.

This, only more so. And even more of a concern, he is in bed with foreign dictators and oligarchs. Most recently, see the issue of Russia paying a bounty to the Taliban to kill US troops in Afghanistan, and Trump and his cabinet ignoring the intelligence. The Lincoln Project got into this straight away:

It's astonishing that people think it's, for example, Democrats and the Clintons who wanted Epstein kept quiet.

He knows his supporters will show up coronavirus or not so he doesn’t want to give the other side those who want to vote remotely. Indeed. This suppression has already been "trialled" at the recent Georgia primary recently. And the reason Trump keeps pushing the false narrative of fraudulent mail-in voting is to try to withdraw absentee voting. I suspect that sacking the US Postmaster General and inserting his own lackey (a Trump donor, unsurprisingly) is part of this, as well as being consistent with the GOP's wish to sell off the Post Office.

We actually need Trump booting out, Cummings and Johnson are drawing strength from him, they're using the same divisive tactics.
