What, so like a bunch of small European countries could come together in some kind of bloc and protect common social and economic interests? That sounds intriguing, run it past me how might such a concept work in practice? Can't imagine it'll ever get off the ground though.

We could call it something like I dunno, the European Union and have a European Parliament a European flag and even a European currency. I'm in.

If only we could form some kind of partnership with our European friends so we could stand up to these superpowers. ------- It seems to me that we need to establish our independence from Europe before we start making new alliances with it. After that, we will hopefully be in a position to choose our working compatriots—and not have a feeling of a European Big Brother breathing down our necks.

I'd rather that where we had an equal say in decisions and an option to opt out of things we didn't want rather than having to go along with whatever Trumps latest whim maybe in the vain hope of getting a trade deal which will end up being less favourable than the one we had when within the EU

Oh, we're establishing our independence from Europe alright.

It's good to see someone admit to changing their mind but what was it that swayed you towards brexit in the first place? I've still not seen a reasonable argument in favour of brexit.

I've still not seen a reasonable argument in favour of brexit. just did not like the idea of free movement within the EU and immegration from other countries being controlled. was quite neutral towards it till that cropped up.

I'm sure you're right and it's much more to do with US pressure rather than part of response to the HK crackdown. either way, China are pushing boundaries all over the place. Was good to see our offer to HK citizens, some credit due there. Canada, Australia, India and others also falling out with a China. Global response needed IMO, don't really see it as an EU issue.
