Think it would depend on how many Rochdale would allow us as I think we'd fill it regardless I think they normally offer up to 3,000. I think we'd have outnumbered them in normal circumstances.

For me, there's a happy medium. Having his passion and tactical insight on the bench is a massive plus. But I can see that too much coaching could destroy your confidence as a player (like Mourinho when he said that he did all Shaw's thinking for him) and take some of your concentration away from the game. Mourinho had to do that because Shaw wasn’t - imagine working on stuff with players all week and when they have shown they can do it in training, they then go into a match and decide to do something different. Not that they can’t do it, but that they think they know better. It fks the team up.

Most complete performance so far from us that, though Chesterfield were utterly dire and im sure Pemberton will come up with excuses of mentally they were shot having already won the tie in their eyes
Hogan did well at right back and put many dangerous ball in got lucky sleeping and playing everyone onside once though, Stott linked up really well with Jennings especially first half with Jennings drifting off left they worked overlap well
Palmer and Keane rarely tested, Croasdale quiet but kept things ticking in middle, Rooney defo better deeper when he can see whats in front of him and then arrive late in the box, excellent for 1st goal and two well taken pens.
Thomas saw a lot of ball first half especially and worked up and down the line well.
Bennett took his goal well and we were afforded luxury of giving him a well earned break last half hour, Reid did what he does well gets in behind teams and took his well and he looked a constant threat as we managed to isolate him against their slow centre halves ending with him winning pen, very good performance from him.
We looked decent in 4-4-2 tonight whether we persevere with that shape or not is anyones guess as Gannon likes to tinker the shape to combat opposition tonight it worked well, some would argue we should play how we want and let teams worry about us and that may be true to an extent certainly at home, interesting he took a seat in stand for fair chunk of game, im sure some conspiracy theorists will say we won handsomely cos we played 442 and Gannon was silent for most part haha!
Just the tonic we needed after saturday so a welcome bit of fortune and chance test ourselves saturday, bit of a worry seeing Reid and Rooney limping after final whistle but sure its just precautionary

Now can we put it to bed that Denton always scores against us?
On a serious note....wouldn't like to be the office worker at Chesterfield going into work in the morning, knowing how much their mistake has cost their employer.

We took 2k to Barnet on a Sunday, I think with all the positivity around at the moment then 3k is a dead cert, and many more in the home sections too. It'd be the most talked about game since Nuneaton and Barnet with a massive thread on here.

Maybe you could find out who it was and we could all send them positive thoughts and cards wishing them good luck in their next job.🤪🤣

Rooney has put all of his penalties to the same side since signing for us. The second one tonight was the first one he's put at a different height.

Sure I wasn't the only one wondering where he'd hit the 2nd one.... no need to panic as it was unstoppable. Great stuff and so much positivity tonight both at EP and elsewhere from County fans.

Just watched it again. Nobodies head is near it? Denton raises his arm, but watching it at normal speed it doesn’t get as far as him. Whatever else happened Inhave nômades. Ref was well placed, so you’d think he got it right.... Yeah I saw Denton with his elbow out but the ball deflects off something before it gets to him, at full speed that must've been what the ref thought happened. Bit of cosmic justice given the handball in the TV game

What happens if Chesterfield have already received(and spent) the 9K for winning the "first" tie? Good luck to the FA trying to get that back!

I guess one is new to the job and has made a simple mistake...sadly that has cost the club a fair few quid. I wish the employee and the club all the best for the rest of the season, as I kinda like Chesterfield, and wouldn't want them to suffer the lows that we have been through.

They’re the club who have most reminded me of us at this level, and I think they’ll drop to NLN before long, and will struggle to get back. Said that when we played them last season, and nothing has changed my mind since.
Over the three games, Butterfield is literally the only player they have who has looked even halfway decent on a consistent basis, and across the whole team, nobody seemed to care in the slightest. Utter lack of leadership both on and off the pitch.
