Poor performance all round really. Will be interesting to see 1) if Rusk is asked about the indiscipline in his post match interview (think both Reid and Maynard got booked for mouthing off at the ref, plus the tackle for the pen from Hogan was completely unecessary) and 2) how he deals with it. No-one really came out of that game particularly well, maybe MSH, Kitching and Minihan at a push. Bennett was gobbing off when he got his yellow, too. Well to be fair he’s a Gannon player, was with him at Northwich IIRC so would aware of his “culture” before he signed him.

Why wouldn’t I have had reason to believe we could beat Sutton United at home under our greatest ever manager? Because of our recent form under said manager against similar sides. Don’t know why you’re picking at me but I suppose that gets you off so fair play. Jim made me feel optimistic about County. Optimism has gone now. Simple.

What was Maynard playing at for the penalty?
Did he think he was back on the school playground?

thats fair comment based on performances but a little early to make judgement on the impact of the new manager. It's not Rusk under pressure, it's Wilson he's the architect of this balls up. We never suffered player indiscipline until he arrived................ Maybe you should add a 'should' in. It's Wilson who 'should' be under pressure, does Stott just trust his opinion though. He'll blame Jim's signings distancing himself from them and then stay in a job while he helps Rusk rebuild the team. If it still doesn't work, then he might start to be questioned. The whole thing stinks.

I’m sure many might disagree, but it very possible that Saturday and tonight had little to do with the current or previous manager (i.e. whoever was in charge the same results were likely). Woking were poor. I listened to Radio Surrey and even their commentators called them a shambles. Saturday was similar to Wealdstone away. Tonight was so similar to Hartlepool away. Suttton stopped us playing. We made too many individual mistakes. The most frustrating thing is the poor discipline from the players - and that is on the players. Maynard’s reaction to the penalty could have been a red. He reacted to a foul by them in the first half looking for a yellow card which was poor from him. Rooney got involved with the referee when Bennett got booked and it was nothing to do with him. We gave away so many free kicks in our half. Somebody mentioned earlier about too many of the newer players having a ‘billy big bollocks’ attitude. I agree with that. They need to improve their attitude (dare I say the ‘C’ word even). We have the quality within the squad to be there or thereabouts. But we won’t be if the attitude and discipline don’t improve.

In much the same way as I didn’t attribute Saturday to Rusk (and thought the gushing about things we’d already shown we could do occasionally this season was... odd) I don’t blame him for tonight either.
Hopefully he now knows the task he’s faced with, how he handles the ill discipline that has crept in since the takeover will make or break him. There are players in this squad who think they’re the big I am (or at least give that impression on the pitch) and they need to be reigned in a peg or two. I really hope he does because I’m sick and tired of being in non league.

Optimism has gone now. Simple. I’m not picking at anybody. It’s a messageboard - you’ve made an assumption that I don’t agree with and we’ve both said why we believe what we are saying - there is no hate from me.

On paper we have a great squad of players...but we have yet to see a solid team emerge from it...don't like this indiscipline that is starting to creep in

What was Maynard playing at for the penalty? Did he think he was back on the school playground? At his age he should know bloody better as should Hogan needlessly diving in.

Some of these players need grabbing by the scruff of the neck and told in no uncertain terms that playing for Barrow and Salford isn’t anything to have an ego about. They might have been big fish in small ponds at their previous clubs but they have a long way to go before they can lace the boots of even our Conference North winning team nevermind our proper club icons. If we can’t reign in the egos and ill discipline it will kill our season.

I think you’re spot on about the discipline and it was always something JG insisted on...perhaps this is the new culture ...tonight was a shambles. Wasn’t impressed with the substitutions either. However, far too early to judge the new manager/coach. He has something of a free pass the rest of this season....as long as there aren’t too many more nights like tonight. It needs to be much improved on Saturday and hopefully it will be.
Hogan needs to have a look at himself. It was a very rash challenge for their pen. He should know better.

Very obvious projection going on here. Those who wanted Jim gone spent most games taking great satisfaction from anything that went wrong and they think everyone else thinks the way that they do. Jim has gone and I've come terms with it. If we play well and win, I'll be a happy man. If we play as poorly as we have tonight, make baffling changes and self destruct I'm going to have something something to say about it. Tonight has been undeniably awful. Fair play. It’s not about managers tonight it’s about the same problems that need sorting. Struggling to win at home and can’t beat the better sides in the division home or away. It’ll be interesting to see what unfolds in the coming weeks and months.
