Not heard Maynard get half as much mention for his reaction, was nothing to do with him, but he’s not the player at the centre of the other controversy. If Rusk did pull him off for that reaction, good on him. [/quote]
Not sure hes earned a 'pull off' for behaving like a bell end

I think it’s unfair for any player to be told he would have been better doing something differently when he’s (apparently) made a perfectly well timed tackle and the referee has messed it up. You’ll often hear the pundits on MOTD saying how well times a tackle was and if he’s got it wrong it would have been a penalty, last ditch tackles are part of the game and I wouldn’t want to make any player think he shouldn’t make them if he’s confident he’s going to win the ball. Also seen a tweet from JK that says before last night Hogan had only had 1 Red in 10 years, he’s clearly not the hot head that some have been making him out to be. Maybe not a hot head in a game then, but what about in and around the team, the dressing room?, what happened after the Torquay game that meant Jim felt he had to leave him out of the squad completely for the next game, what about the times he seemed to be arguing back with Jim on the side. All adds to atmosphere around the club. Allegedly they stayed over and Bell turned up late to every team meeting that weekend, then obviously came on and constantly gave ball away including in lead up to winning goal Believe Hogan made his point known that to paraphrase "what sort of example does that set when prepare badly and then see it in performance"....Jim i believe stepped in and told Hogan to paraphrase again "im the manager and make decisions" or words to that effect Then obviously both sides get defensive and argument occurred That was through someone who is good mates with Halifax assistant manager and came up in discussion after game against them on Tuesday night Thats the version of events I heard, but 2nd hand information

I agree maybe about going up automatically, but worth remembering a win last night would have taken us to 2nd in the league with games to spare. I think the current crop are definitely capable of getting us in to the playoffs over the rest of the games this season. It’s also worth noting that Sutton are capable of being level on points with Torquay if they win their games in hand. A situation that we would have been in had we beaten Sutton. Fine margins and all that.

Name me a single manager in professional football that doesn’t have a ‘type’ of signing, Gibbo. To word it another way, having the 'particular type of signing that Gannon has'? If the best player we could get was Player A, but the Manager doesn't like that type of player so we get a lesser player in Player B, then we're restricting ourselves. The assumption on here is that Jim didn't want Player A (Rooney), as he prefers younger / inexperienced players (Player B). We're therefore not signing the best players we can get. Now I suppose your argument back to me could be (and maybe a valid one), you're rather have Manager A (Jim you'll say) and Player B than Player A (Rooney) and Manager C (Rusk? - tbc). If a player’s attitude doesn’t fit a squad then his ability won’t be as useful as that attitude is harmful. I’m not saying that’s what’s happened here, I’m just reminding you that there’s more than just ability of individuals that goes in to building a good team.

He's hardly going to say, " He's undoubtedly a good player at this level, but seems to think he's a Premiership player without any experience at a decent level to back it up. I wouldn't have signed him personally due to his poor attitude and lack of discipline, but Simon Wilson's calling the shots now." Jim had to toe the line. It was self preservation. Jim 100% wanted Rooney, I was in Prince Albert just after takeover at the table where he was speaking to Bellis saying that if Bramhall hadn't delayed the takeover hadn't been delayed we would have had Bennett, Rooney and Jordan Williams prior to start of last season, so he got all those he wanted Tbh I can believe that Jim wanted Bennett, Rooney and Williams. Jim’s been very complimentary about Rooney’s ability since he arrived including in those post matches where he’s often maligned for being too truthful. It’s Hogan and Maynard I’m less convinced he wanted. But it’s all just conjecture nobody knows but Jim and Simon Wilson.

Yes thing is if we were top of league it be "what a great squad Jim has assembled" cos we've done just ok and a little bit underwhelming all season its only now questions getting asked of "Jim didnt want these players" cant really have it both ways I guess Jim has stated time and again that he was happy with squad and backing though. Granted there now may be a feeling that hes been stabbed in back, but he was defo happy with what he had to work with initially

Looks better than it did from the camera on the pop, but it's still not clear whether he got ball or ball then man or man then ball. Think we would have gone ballistic if the boot was on the other foot and it hadn't been given.

I agree with the co comms that he doesn’t need to make the challenge. He’s done well to keep up with him and not allow him to get into a central position.
