Wilson is a dead man walking surely. Said it from the moment Jim was sacked. The decision was absolutely horrendous. The choice of replacements is worse. The time, money, satisfaction and bond with the fans that this has lost Mark Stott will render this all a sacking offence.
Wilson, Rusk, McGhee, not one of them will be seen on the opening day of next season. And it goes without saying the opening day will still be at this level.

I’ve always thought that Hogan, Maynard, Rooney were not typical Jim Gannon profile players. It’s their discipline that’s always in question. 2 things I’ve often thought is were these 3 forced on Jim and was he put under pressure to play them. We may never know. Lois Maynard is not fit to lace Sam Walkers boots.
Well Jim didn't sound unhappy when we signed Rooney.
Manager Jim Gannon said:
“We are all delighted John has joined us at County. I think this signing is a real statement of intent on behalf of Stockport County. In my recent squad update I had highlighted a strong desire to add goals, creativity and quality to our front line. In that regard Simon Wilson has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to attract players, that we can be regarded as amongst the best in the League.”
“As a team we needed to add a player with both creativity and attack intent from midfield. In that regard John Rooney is the stand out player in the National League for goals from midfield. His record last season was exceptional. Its not just the number of goals, assists and set play quality that makes John a stand out player in this league. He also brings a level of football involvement and leadership that helps a team play to a high standard.”
He's hardly going to say, " He's undoubtedly a good player at this level, but seems to think he's a Premiership player without any experience at a decent level to back it up. I wouldn't have signed him personally due to his poor attitude and lack of discipline, but Simon Wilson's calling the shots now." Jim had to toe the line. It was self preservation.

I hope you're right, but I feel like Stott is buying it at the moment.

I'd be surprised if that red card is overturned. The only angle will be the one from the stream and it looked a blatant penalty. It'll be worth looking at again when the "highlights" are out, but I can't see how he blatantly got the ball.

I thought it looked bad on the stream. He should have stayed on his feet and he is experienced enough to know that. It was a bad day at the office all round. Focus should be on getting it right for Saturday now.

So Wilson forced Jim to have Rooney in the side. Jesus how unfair to be given the best player in the league. Shocking.

On its own yes it's probably a positive to be given the best player in the league. However, in the context of giving him a 3 year deal, basically making him untouchable? In the context of him being one of a raft of signings that Jim didn't identify? In the context of there being an obvious foreseeable culture clash with the manager?
Yes, shocking.

The club has footage from the other side of the ground and it was a perfectly timed challenge. He won the ball.

It's a penalty, but it wasn't a red card because he went for the ball. When you've got rash defenders like Hogan at the back, you are dicing with this type of thing happening. All this noise about the incident is just that though- noise. This club has far bigger problems than that.

In football, there are no guarentees it will work out. Everyone involved knows the nature of the game. Football's unpredictable nature is a blessing and a curse. But we've given ourselves the conditions.
Get those season tickets snapped up, you will be one of the lucky ones.

But none of them required any actual decisions. Certainlty not one of a football nature.
When it comes down to the nuances of running a successful football club on the pitch, yes we do have massive problems. Average players who are last 20's/early 30's that are on long contracts, sacked a proven legend as manager to replace with a novice who now has a 3 and a half year contract, got a D.O.F who is winging it. The PR and communication is absolutely dreadful too.

Regardless of the sending off and the penalty, which was saved by the way, does anyone think we were going to turn that result around?. Barring the first 10/15 minutes where we looked OK, after that we were dire. Having Hogan on the pitch wouldn't have changed the result. The system and style of play was all wrong and given the goal thay had gifted to them to defend they looked like they had a on.
