Must admit that my taste in beer is piss poor compared to others, but where the Fcuk has this Madri come from? Moretti is sort of ok, but don't get this Madri hype this summer. Just a glorified Carling with no relevance to Spain at all. Estrella, Mahou and Cruzcampo all sh1t all over the above.

Agreed on Madri. You see it everywhere now. They sell it in the Alex and it's something like a fiver a pint. Madness that! I can get a pint of imported German wheat beer for the same price!

First came across this swill at a 'do'in the Alma Lodge last year.Gave it a try in preference to the usual cream flow and ice cold crap and wish I hadn't.Speaking of swill, does anybody remember Robbies go at lager, the dreaded Einhorn ? It took the taste buds to a whole new level.

I like Madri. Decent taste without being premium strong. I have had to gravitate towards Lager since traditional bitter started to give me gout, lager doesn't seem to. Since I stopped drinking bitter I have also not got the plethora of flavoured beers that people rave about. For anyone in the Heatons who used to drink in the Crown HM Road, I can just see Doris the land lady responding to "have you got one of them beers in watermelon flavour". It would end in luvvie but be preceeded by **** ***. The hatters in Marple many moons ago had a similar character, a landlady by the name of Sadie. It was a standing joke to get unsuspecting punters to go to the bar & just ask for a lager, they'd be met with a frosty glare followed by a string of expletives

Einhorn was my introduction to pub lager in the early 90s as a 16 year old. Fond memories 🤣

Speaking of Robbies beer. Did something shift around the early 2000's with regards to how they brew the beer? In my earlier drinking days (mid to late 90s) Robbies bitter used to get me properly tw&tted. It didn't even particularly like the taste so god knows why I drank it. It seemed much stronger than its purported ABV. Now when I drink any Robbies beer its all a bit meh. Very sessionable if not a bit bland.

Just a glorified Carling with no relevance to Spain at all. Estrella, Mahou and Cruzcampo all sh1t all over the above. And the tostada beer from the Estrella Levante brewery in Murcia sh1ts all over any of those. If you're not a lager drinker, the tostada beers are the beers to drink when you're in this country if you can get them. One of my favourites is Lidl's own brand tostada which comes in at a potent 6.6% 🍻🤑 There are some very good Spanish ciders too but they can be hard to come by here in the south. You need to go to the Northern province of Asturias for the best ones.
