I'm playing Hitchikers Guide to The Galaxy at the minute on the Atari ST (well 30 mins in) just got to the ship with Zaphod on. My youngest doesn't get there are no graphics, its infuriatingly difficult 🤣 <adenoids> I think you’ll find it’s called the Heart of Gold </adenoids>

I have just got past the it is dark, you can't hear, see, smell nor taste anything after thumbing on to the ship.

EAFC24 80% off on PlayStation so I’ve taken the plunge. Give me your top tips please! On Ultimate Team this year you can 'evolve' the cards, so I've taken an understandably-low rated County team and evolved a lot of them into better cards. Camps and Powell will also be 86 once the current evolutions are completed.

Pretty sure I got him on a 2 year loan as well.

I know I'm months late to it and maybe it's not even good but is it worth getting football manager on my laptop?
I've not played it in a long time and I think my old laptop can run it although tbh I'm not sure (is it worth the gamble?) if I get it do I need to download anything else/buy anything else like dlc's? I've no idea tbh
Or do I just wait until November I get the next one when it's new

As long as it’s not a complete potato is will probably run it even if you have to dial all of the settings down on the match sims. You might just have to have fewer playable leagues as well if it runs slow. A few years ago I ran FM2021 with the 6 tiers of England, top tiers of Spain, Italy, Germany and France on a 2015 MacBook Pro. It wasn’t speedy through simulating results but it wasn’t painful either and I could watch the matches with the 3D match engine and the setting at a reasonable level. It’s not a particularly hardware intensive game. Edit - there aren’t any DLCs or the like. It’s just the game as is. It’s up to you if you want to try and pick it up now probably a bit cheaper than it would be at release or wait until November. I usually leave it a few years between buying it, am probably going to get the latest version next year I think. You’ll probably need Steam to play it. Don’t think you can just get it on its own without a launcher these days.

And yes, worth every single penny. I don't think, other than Advanced Squad Leader (which is a table top board game), that there's any game ever invented that gives more value for money.

Don’t think you can just get it on its own without a launcher these days. spent about 45 minutes downloading steam - mainly trying to make an account but my laptop wouldn't accept that I'm not a robot (ironic) but found out there was a mobile version of steam and made an account in like 5 minutes. Anyway, got on to steam and had all sorts of things pop up but at the top an orange bar caught my attention. Steam will no longer operate on my windows or something and it advised me to upgrade to a better windows (I'm on 8.1) as I don't use my laptop that much but no idea how to upgrade windows my laptop is from around 7 years old but I think the main problem is the windows just never got updated to windows 10/11... Will have a proper look when I wake up to see if I can upgrade to what is needed but just a quick Google search says it cost over 100 dollars to upgrade to windows 10 but 11 is free from 10. But some places say I can do it for free all together. I'm not good on laptops as you can see. Give me a phone or a console and Im alright but since I left school ams stopped using the schools mac books (don't know the full name) I've become useless

From what I hear it's a lot more detailed and playable than it used to be. If your laptop is 7 years old and you'd need to pay to upgrade to Windows 10 (which is the minimum OS you'd need to run FM and most games tbh) then I'd suggest saving your money and looking at getting a low end laptop in future if you need one generally. Macs tend to age better than Windows machines and I consider my nearly 8 year old MacBook Pro end of life.

Agreed don't pay 100 quid to upgrade to Win 10, I got a desktop for 55 quid from a re furbished place which came with Win 10 i7 and 8Gb 25 quid more for 16Gb , it then upgraded to 11 foc. If you need a Laptop 125 ish can pick up something good enough to run it.

Well, my EAFC 24 career started well. Following Stockport County’s shock dismissal of Dave Challinor, they quickly moved to install me, Gaff McGaffer, a complete novice, in his place. Who would do that?!
Anyway, 20 mins into my first match and I’m 1-0 down and Sarce’s sent off. I win 5-1
Second match goes a bit better. 11 men finish 10-1
After much soul-searching, I agree that ‘Semi-pro’ might be a tad easy for me, so I increase the difficulty to ‘Professional’
I then get battered 6-1 against Cambridge United. Cass gets sent off this time.
Also all my players are knackered. I guess because they’ve had to play against an extra man
