Epic!
Absolutely delighted Stokes was offered and wanted to take the captaincy. It may only end up being 2/3 years but what a fantastic time we’re in for.
Our Batting will always struggle when it nips around but on a flat deck with a fast outfield we look sensational

Thought was getting a catch in crowd when Stokes hit Bracewell for 6 i was on back row of the middle tier and it still carried directly over my head, huge!!!
Wore my champions shirt and gate attendant said "another happy Stockport fan" and that he seen a few others there too
Spoke to a Notts C fan who said how good Wootton work rate is so sounds right up our street

Trent Bridge is a brilliant venue and shits all over Old Trafford How so ? Only ever been to Edgebaston and OT to see the cricket. I quite like OT, easy to get to, the views from the top of the two newer stands are really good, the hotel is great to stay at (for lancs games, for england its ridiculously expensive), bar queues have allways been reasonable and the pitch is usually fairly sporting.

Better location in the City, easy to park if want to go by car, everything just better furnished and all looks new, Old Trafford looks tired and ugly in areas in comparison, food stalls and beer selections are better, its just generally easier on eye and more modernised I dont mind Old Trafford and as say the pitch is good and sporting there, but Trent Bridge is a much better all round venue

Old Trafford is monumentally ugly and functional. When you look at the architecture around new stands elsewhere, particularly Lords, Trent Bridge, Headingley, the Oval (including what's planned there), Old Trafford is a dump by comparison. Rebuilt as a concert venue, with cricket as an afterthought.

Which is laughable as it’s probably the worst ‘big gig venue’ in town. It just doesn’t work. Even Heaton Park is better.

Fair play to McCullum's boys, few could have foreseen England being in control after the end of day 2. Brilliant test match

Amazing turnaround from what went before. I had my doubts about the wisdom of giving the captaincy to Stokes, but he seems to have embraced it and McCullum is also making a massive difference. A few quick wickets tomorrow morning and we will be in doo doo but to get even to this stage is a very decent effort.
Another really good test with plenty of ebb and flow. Still the best cricket format for me.

Said it elsewhere, but in March we were a laughing stock: hammered in Oz, beaten in the Windies. And within 4 months, we've made 3 of the top 50 run chases of all time, in successive tests against the World Champs. And there's a decent chance of getting our best ever (and the 8th best ever amongst all teams) this morning. Obviously Root and - particularly - Bairstow are in the form of their lives, but it's amazing what a change of management and attitude can do.

These run chases are frightening.
It almosts makes the preceeding 3 days play completely pointless. Are we going to be chasing down 300-500 every match now ? It's mind boggling and doesn't even feel like cricket

Anyone else think that Root has benefited by giving up the captaincy?.......and the team benefitted by Stokes taking it on?

Had my doubts that the ultra aggressive style of play would start to be regarded as reckless and poor shot selection when we lost. Stokes in the first innings gave 3 chances in 10 minutes with the same slapped shot, but no one can deny that its entertaining to watch. We seemed to be introducing a very slightly more considered approach second innings, especially Crawley, and if we can end up with a hybrid aggressive but accepting that not every ball has to be walloped then I think Baz ball could be really good. Hope we can do it today and hope someone rams it down Kohlis throat obnoxious ****.
