I was lucky enough to spend the day with Chris Kamara yesterday (this isn't showing off, there's County content I promise), genuinely nicest bloke you could wish to meet. After telling him who I support Kammy was right on the phone to Challinor for a little chat, asking who we're bringing in, but DC says something along the lines of we have to lose some players first. So I should expect a few more out of the door soon.
Also DC said yesterday was his first day back in the office, as he's recovering from an op due to sinus problems. I didn't ask but perhaps that's why the Reid move only just went through.

I'm surprised we haven't signed ZFA, considering he's out of contract now and seemed to fit in very well in his two starts. We didn,t want him, pools didn,t the same as other clubs he has been at. Rated the lad myself, but there must be something with him where clubs seem glad to get rid.

My worry is that after a good season in the NL with promoted hartlepool he seemed to have been found out at vale. Just wonder what their fans thought of him and was he as poor as his record suggested. I remember reading the One Vale forum at the time, Vale fans thought he was unfortunate as they had a really good defence, he wasn't given much of a chance. Vale's season in 2021 had finished over 6 weeks before the NL play off final and he signed for Vale less than a week after that game. A week after his signing they were playing pre season friendlies. His football body clock was 6 week behind his team mates. Having said that my Vale supporting neighbour reckons he was fairly anonymous but that might have been because of the line up being settled when he arrived.

Time will tell I suppose. He's a decent defender but not great at getting forward with the ball. More often than not it's just a sideways pass to one of the other CBs. He has a good long accurate pass in him though. My gripe is when he is on my side of the pitch when attacking the RE there is space and time for him to get forward but seems loathed to do it like an old fashioned full back who would self combust if they crossed the half way line. However we do not know what his orders are when going onto the pitch.
That's my perspective as well timber. I see a lot more when we are attacking the RE, the old eyes struggle when it's the CE!

Paul Dickov's 20 year old son signs for Brentford....he was playing for Stockport Town last season, time will tell whether we've let one slip through the net

Can’t spot Reid here. When is confirmation of his move meant to be?

Had a septoplasty last Sept because I couldn't breathe out of one side at all - it's now both bloody sides!

4 appearances isn't exactly a big sample size. Imagine if we'd booted Ash out after 4 appearances. I agree with what others have said about his distribution but I wouldn't be unduly worried to go into the season with him as a first choice CB. No issue with Johnson in and around squad, was very good when came in and i thought he used the ball pretty well A big threat from set pieces too, then i think he had a poor run of games Agree with point where i found him frustrating that he wouldnt drive the ball out of defence like our side defenders have when space run into, Kitching did that well but Johnson the defending part better I thought we lost a bit as attacking threat without Kitching as him and Rydel had a better understanding and thats when saw best of Rydel and at start pf unbeaten run we were scoring 3-4 goals a game at will Johnson then came in and i felt we lost a bit of edge about us in that respect and became more workmanlike than the attacking unit we were previous Kitching had added defensive errors to his game though sadly Id err towards we need a better LCB but not unduly worried about Johnson either Agree with all that and would add that when Keane came in at RCB he fitted well. He can drive into space and also deliver decent balls on the diagonal and offer a threat from shots from outside the box.

Apparently Hartlepool United defender Neill Byrne who played under DCh at both Fylde and Hartlepool is interesting Tranmere.
