Whatever happened to the Micah Hamilton rumours? I see he's on preseason tour with the Man City first team. He came on against Barcelona. I'd be really surprised if we got him on loan. Think he could well be involved with city's 1st team squad this season as he seems very highly thought of by them and also any of their fans I've spoken to. Think it would be a major coup even on loan!

I guess Joe White will also go out on loan somewhere from Newcastle.

I was speaking to one of the academy lads dads in Pinatar and from what he said all the young lads like Gardner on that trip expect to be out on loan this season...most important one for me is to get Cody Johnson somewhere he's going to be playing every week

I’d take him. I think we need a box to box midfielder who is capable of playing about 40 games a season. I have little faith that Camps, Collar, Powell or Fiorini will offer that.

But from what I've heard (which could, of course, be b*llocks as it was only what people said on Twitter and a couple of clips) White doesn't look like that player at all. Rather, he sounds like a skilful but not especially robust attacking midfielder who can play wide or as a ten. Fair play if you've seen more of him and he's a box-to-box player with a good engine, though - I might be wrong.

He said he had a bit of everything and could do a job as an 8. Mainly just after someone who can stay fit!

He had niggles when he first joined us and his time at Hamilton was also littered with injuries. He joined us in 2021 and has 113 appearances under his belt, not bad considering he missed most of last season. After his niggles, he was very consistently available and looked in really good shape for 18 months or so. But the last 12-18 months have worried me; it's always felt like the club has been cagey about his injuries and that he's not been back as quickly as expected. For a player whose game relies in large part on physical attributes - great engine, good presser, good in the air - that's a worry. Not that I'm saying we shouldn't stick with him, just that I wouldn't mind us adding a robust box-to-box midfielder with good physical attributes. Add that plus a ball carrier and I'd say we're set (as long as Mellon's injury isn't season-ending, god forbid).
