Once saw his old man polish off a KFC bargain bucket on his own in Liverpool late 90s when he played for Everton.

He joined us in 2021 and has 113 appearances under his belt, not bad considering he missed most of last season. After his niggles, he was very consistently available and looked in really good shape for 18 months or so. But the last 12-18 months have worried me; it's always felt like the club has been cagey about his injuries and that he's not been back as quickly as expected. For a player whose game relies in large part on physical attributes - great engine, good presser, good in the air - that's a worry. Not that I'm saying we shouldn't stick with him, just that I wouldn't mind us adding a robust box-to-box midfielder with good physical attributes. Add that plus a ball carrier and I'd say we're set (as long as Mellon's injury isn't season-ending, god forbid). We're in a positon now, where we don't really miss Collar if he isn't playing. He's still got plenty to offer, but i wouldn't consider him as probably the first name on the team sheet, like a couple of seasons ago, that midfield is now very competitive, & he'll struggle to make an impression if he continues to pick up injuries

Sheffield journalist with close to 200k followers. don't really know how to feel tbh. According to the comments hes a striker that needs to be playing every week. I just dont see him playing too much unless mellon has been sent back because the injury is a bad one

when we had THAT midfield 3, i feel like they all were over played by not having suitable back ups to way we wanted to play. Collar energy and power isn't something that can play and play and play. Needs resting and hopefully this season he can play and also be rested. Powell and fiorini can share the attacking midfield spot Collar, camps and Bailey can all share the cm spot along with mingi and bate stepping up too Bate, mingi and camps can all play the dm role with different qualities. This side to me doesnt look like its going to rely on as much high energy pressing as we have been used to in last couple seasons, it's alot more technical while still maintaining a press but i think it will be more about picking our moments and pressing smarter

Collar had an unfortunate year, before that he rarely missed. He had niggles when he first joined us and his time at Hamilton was also littered with injuries. Weren't his niggles related to their plastic pitch?

Sheffield journalist with close to 200k followers. I know Mellon's injury was described as "not good" but how "not good" are we talking?
We probably do another striker if he's out for more than, say, three months but soon we're going to have to grin and bear these injuries and feel the pain of them even more because we can't keep replacing every injury.

I've just received a text saying Louie Barry is almost certain to sign, again not usually a bullshitter.
