We want Fevrier further forward predominantly but if we play wing backs, he's a wing back. Wanting him to play further forward is great but back 4 has been knocked on the head because Knoyle, Connolly and MSH are all injured at the same time. I can see us bringing in another young loanee for RB/RWB because of the length of Knoyle's injury, though. But it won't be some proven full back and rightly so.

6pm announcement about the captaincy/vice-captaincy then?
Surely they won't leave it until the team announcement tomorrow.

Fair enough. Part of my thinking is driven by our ambition in the market and desire to bring in long term development options, like Addai when we have Ben. Play Fevrier at RWB and he does well and I won't complain! He could still play ahead of a wingback in 3-4-3 or even in the Barry role of a 3-5-2.

Yeah. DC's comments below. I'm sure we factored him in a back-up in emergencies (like tomorrow) or an in-game option when we are chasing a goal but he clearly wasn't / isn't the first choice RB/RWB. I won't be surprised to see him a back-up second striker. “He already has the pace, power and dribbling ability to cause real problems; it’s our job to refine that and get him into areas on the pitch where he can hurt defenders and add the one thing missing from his game which is numbers around goals and goal involvements, something that we had success with last season with Louie on the left hand side.
“Jayden has the ability to play anywhere across the front line but spent most of last season in a wing back role which, although he does it very well, probably prevented the amount of goal scoring moments he had. Jayden is hugely motivated to improve and is very analytical about his game, which we all feel are the characteristics that can absolutely thrive in our environment."Yeah, not first choice of course, but an option. Plus Connolly as pointed out above. Again though Connolly can’t play RWB. We’ve lost Evans as well down that side as a wing back option.

He’s not a wing back in a 343 if we said we want to play him higher though is he.

Confirmed 10 out. Hoping half back for 7-14 Sept international break but will need to build minutes.
Tanto Blackpool. Stretton and Powell not far behind. Rydel back end of August.

It's the baseline in a 25 man or so squad. 2 where it's their preferred position and a third where they can cover. To be expected when sometimes 2 games in a week or injuries. Having 2 would mean 1 injury means 1 player can't rest.

Thinking about this. Connolly being out for 4 more weeks sounds about right but does that mean Forini's injury is worse than expected? And Mellon's isn't a season ender - as presumably we would have confirmed - but at least a ACL like Adaramola and looking like 2 months. (Then MSH and Knoyle longterm.) Four of the new signings out for good chunk of the season?

It’d still be short of the 67 we played in 96/97, the same season Fergie asked the league to extend it.

Are there FA Cup replays this season or have people with no idea how things should be killed them off?
