Carlisle retained list out already I see they no longer require the services of one Benjamin Phillip Barclay. Hed better be nowhere near our squad come the beginning of pre season training.

I see they no longer require the services of one Benjamin Phillip Barclay. His loan has come to an end, it doesn't mean they don't intend to offer him anything. Personally I think they would have if they were still in L2 but as they've gone up they'll be looking for better. He wasn't even a regular for them to be honest. They still had a decent back three and that was without Morgan Feeney, one of their usual starting back 3.
I hope they go for him so we can get him off the books. Nothing personal but he bricked himself everytime he played in our colours, a change has obviously done him good.

He'll probably see out the final year of his contract on loan at a team that we deem to be lower end L2.

I see they no longer require the services of one Benjamin Phillip Barclay. Plus the Melish link can be put to bed It probably can because they’ve gone up and if we had any sense we wouldn’t be paying fees out for a LCB when there appears to be a few good ones out of contract. But Carlisle taking an option to extend Mellish’s contract like they were always going to do changes absolutely nothing.

Is there a reason Doncaster are being touted? Finished 12 points of relegation, 20 off the playoffs. Ok I know Stevenage and Barrow showed huge improvement between this season and last, but not seen anything to suggest they’ll be challenging. Their board have said they are putting more money in and there will be money to spend on transfers. Their first couple of signings look decent as do some other players they have been linked with and they’ve appointed a manager that looks a big improvement on the two from last season. A keeper, don’t know much about him, but Sterry and a 37-year old CB on a free? I dunno, not saying they won’t improve their points tally but not blowing me away. Early days though, for everyone.

Sterry is someone we’ve been interested in and linked with and that 37-year-old had been regularly starting in the Champo/at the top of L1 in the last few years and is also a big scoring threat from set pieces. No one is saying that they’re going to win the league just that they are going to be in that top 10 mix.

Orient signed a 36 y.o 2 seasons ago , Darren Pratley Captain lifted the League Trophy as a 38 year old . Age isnt the marker. Being good enough is though.

McCann is comfortably good enough to be a top 10 league 1 manager, arguably best manager in the league on paper. That’s the major turning point for them.

I’m not sure we’d all be lauding a 37 year old Centre half despite his experience as a decent signing.
