I did enjoy the game and it did sum up where our style is different from others We look stiff and lack pace They moved quicker and moved the ball quicker We do tend towards long balls their forward balls were shorter They had a bit more possession than us But we did penetrate the goal area far more than them. Can’t quite understand why Knoyle wasn’t given even more license to attack from the right. They had little answer to that. Croasdale is an absolute star Rydel had a better game as the game wore on after a poor start he was inches away from winning the game with free kick and a potential header at the death. I don’t understand why Hussey didn’t take that free kick. Hussey has already scored by going over the wall side this season, Rydel went keeper side which made it an easy (if spectacular looking) save. It was 30 yards out. Hussey was never scoring from there with his technique. It needed power and it was a really good effort.

We get one on target with pace needing a good save and someone says someone else should have taken it.

I don't understand our corners.
Whenever horsfall is in the team the corners are poor. When bryne is in the team they are decent.
Horsfall scored 9 goals last season, we haven't played to our players strengths again.

We weren’t a great attacking side when we won the league but we scored loads more goals from corners last year.

We were more entertaining to watch last season though, and I’ll admit a large part of that was playing weaker opponents more frequently, so we could cut loose more often / teams who parked the bus couldn’t manage it for 90 minutes.
The problem this season isn’t that we’re a bad side, just a combination of a few things.
We’re generally functional, rather than exciting - a solid defence set up for cross field balls to Wootton, who holds the ball up until a wingback gets there, at which point a cross comes in for Madden / Collar / Hippo to bury.
Opposition have generally come to spoil and shut us down rather than play football (as they quite rightly should) meaning there’s only been a handful of games where I’ve come home thinking ‘I enjoyed that’ rather than ‘well, that was crap, but at least we won’
Our players with a bit of flair have all moved on / been injured - I’m not saying Crankshaw/MSH are the answer / good enough for this level, but they’re more fun to watch than the slightly more solid, but less exciting players who they’ve replaced.
Those of us who have been going a while are now surrounded by faces we don’t recognise, so the social side of things isn’t there to quite the same extent, compounded by the derderder crap replacing proper County songs.
A general sense of having spent loads of money meaning we should be better than this. A side effect is that few of the players really feel like ‘ours’ / have the ability to grow with us - hopefully someone like Cody Johnson comes through in the next season or two / Rydel becomes more consistent as he gets older and becomes a firm favourite.

Its the lack of a creative midfielder thats hindering us, Camps was supposed to have been that man but has been bobbins then we are told they are a bit worried about transitions so asked him to sit deeper and he is no good at that either
Hippo has energy but lacks consistent quality, sarce is shadow of player he was and doesnt stay fit for long
Those 3 have a whole 4 assists combined between them, two for Hippo one each for the others, thats nowhere near good enough, maybe that has resulted in us being more direct instead but generally centre halves at this level want teams to play like that against them so can just go and head it, need to pull players out of position more with slicker interplay and better movement off the ball

Think we should be careful we don't do away with potential new fans with some of this "closed shop / in crowd / no day-trippers" attitudes that are out there. Ashley Williams was at the game last night and commented on 5Live today how great it was to see the amount of kids there. I assume many of those kids might have been taken by their 'day-tripper' parents. If we want Stott's investment, the success that comes with, we're probably going to have to put up with a period of education newer fans maybe??

Im pretty sure Mark Stott wont want any potential new fans being sneered at and put off from coming again because they dont feel welcome. Hes doing his bit and eventually increasing the capacity to cater for new fans not for the 2500 that attended every week in the NLN. The community team work tirelessly to engage with kids and parents and get them through the door, and what do we do? Moan about it. Nice one. We were all new once.

But if it was further out then fair enough.

Im pretty sure Mark Stott wont want any potential new fans being sneered at and put off from coming again because they dont feel welcome. That's my biggest concern Advent, that Mark Stott will eventually F-off, because the effort he's put in to making the club isn't reciprocated by the supporters who: 1. want to have their freedom to sit / stand at the back of LT1 - and therefore don't like people wanting to sit in their allocated seats (do we think Stott would accept booking Theatre Tickets for his Mrs and they not be allowed to sit in the seats they booked??) 2. slag off the potential wider circle of supporters we might attract (e.g. we are a family of City fans but we can't get tickets and want to see live Football, so lets go and watch County) 3. hate the fan that came along with his County fan mate and subconsciously had a City / United shirt on Might sound dramatic, but I really worry with Stott there will be a straw that breaks it at some point.

It is dramatic. If Stott walks away for reasons like that then he has been a shit owner with skin too thin he shouldn’t have contemplated owning a football club. I get the impression you’ve been on the sauce and are looking for a rise out of people.

Also, to be perfectly clear, I am more than happy they’re going to games. I just don’t want to be stuck in the middle of them again. Hence not wanting to go in the railway end again. Got a bit sick of hearing about x premier league club, how good a thing Salford had just done, and getting funny looks for trying to start chants.

I agreed with your original sentiment gibbo but can't agree with 2 out 3 of these points. 1, Dave Scofield summed Lt1 up perfectly the other day, we all get along, there's no moaning about seats & sitting, if you're a newcomer who gets a seat in that section & doesn't like it then buy a seat somewhere else next game, most ST holders in this section know what to expect. 3. any fan who goes to another club to watch in the home section wearing another teams shirt with a complete disregard of any historical dislike whether based on geography or footballing rivalry needs to give their head a wobble, football by it's very nature is tribal, always has been always will be, doesn't mean we have to knock 7 bells out of each other but there should always be respect of the surroundings & people who frequent there. Would you seriously expect a West ham supporting friend of a Millwall fan to be able to sit in the den wearing a West Ham shirt? No different with us, & I wouldn't wear a County shirt if i was going to Old trafford or the Ethiad with respective friends, people that do that are just weird & potentially asking for trouble. No problem whatsoever with fans of other clubs coming to watch us, saw a lad there last night who I worked with for years who is a fervent City fan, he was enjoying it & I was happy to see him there, if he'd been wearing a City shirt though I'd of thought he was taking the piss.
