What a turn up for the books DC to Charlton all but done. Looks like a 5.0 away defeat this weekend like when he left Pool Fortunately we're at home. |

Jim’s yet again appeared on here, but the truth is, he was incredibly difficult to work with, mainly as he was never in the wrong; whether being told by Danny, or anyone else going forward - he was never at fault (in his own opinion). It’s often better to take gods off there pedestals in order to better examine more closely the flaws. PS. Jim is a County legend - no debate - but with question marks (as identified by almost everyone else who employed him); he is completely irrelevant to County going forward in 2023. Spend much time in day to day contact with him at work? Questions marks at any other place are wholly irrelevant. |

He's the clear favourite now on Bet Victor and Charlton fans don't seem over the moon about it, I personally think he'd be mad to move down there for something like 6 months before he's sacked but maybe things are not so rosy here behind the scenes.

He's right on the precipice at County. Move to Charlton and he has a fresh start and more time to turn things around. If he goes to Charlton and fails, there are still L2 teams that would take a punt on him. |

If he gets a 2 year contract with full payout for 6 Months work he will be fine. He will always get a League 2 club now if he fails there. |

We wouldnt stand in a players way if a great opportunity came up for them, why would we stand in Challinor? Especially if he said hes interested. Expect him to move on sometime in the near future but Charlton would represent a massive career gamble IMO. Irrespective of them being a bigger club in a higher division they're an absolute basket case off the field, DC could take the job today & easily be out of a job in 6 months time, If I were him I'd be asking myself is it worth disrupting my family's life for a club as unstable as Charlton? If he does take that gamble with a club like that then that indicates to me there's something deeply wrong behind the scenes at County. I find it hard to quibble with any of that. |

I'm not a massive DC fan at L2 level, as I think the football has been unentertaining and tactical responsiveness questionable. However, these points are moderated by the ongoing injury list and as now seems probably, he has had to compromise at best with a DoF in terms of squad composition. High potential young recruits from Swansea & Wolves are not what we need right now . We need battle hardened mid-career professionals capable of immediately being effective and covering the obvious holes in the squad. I'd have been happy to give DC this season, so not on a campaign against him. But above everything else the timing seems awful, in that it makes it much more difficult to recruit the players we need before the window closes. What player wants to walk into such uncertainty given the relationship with the manager is such an important aspect of deciding to join a Club.

He’d be mad to turn down Charlton. A bigger club and if it doesn’t work out he doesn’t lose much stock because everyone can see how they work through managers. Take a decent contract from them and either get success and find himself in the championship or take a decent payout for the sack and find yourself lined up for a league two job or top end NL soon enough.
Assuming he’ll go then he goes with my best wishes but for some reason I don’t see him in that “legend” slot of previous managers. Harsh perhaps as he’s done *almost* all that was expected of him but maybe because success this time was so expected the impact is undervalued - by me at least.
I certainly didn’t see this twist coming when people began talking about his job being on the line the last few days.
