Maybe things not as bad behind the scenes as some think? Not having a pop at those who disagree in all seriousness. I’ve not read the thread as just back from work but if it was untenable then he’d have likely jumped at Charlton. Let’s see what unfolds next.

Jim’s yet again appeared on here, but the truth is, he was incredibly difficult to work with, mainly as he was never in the wrong; whether being told by Danny, or anyone else going forward - he was never at fault (in his own opinion). It’s often better to take gods off there pedestals in order to better examine more closely the flaws. PS. Jim is a County legend - no debate - but with question marks (as identified by almost everyone else who employed him); he is completely irrelevant to County going forward in 2023. The best thing about Dave Challinor getting us up was that we finally had success under a manager who wasn’t Jim Gannon. It is healthy for us, especially the 💙Jim💙fanboys like myself. But of course he’s going to come up in conversation regularly. 1,000 games as a player or manager, four promotions (2 as a player and 2 as manager), a win at Wembley and a title win, he has thoroughly adopted Stockport as his home and he’s one of us. He’s iconic. Everything I’ve said there is simply facts - not pedestals. By all accounts Danny could be difficult to work with too, the club put his likeness on a literal pedestal over the summer and rightly so. |

If it is true it really shows great loyalty from the man. I would have gone if I was him. He's an excellent manager and he's gone up in my estimations if true.
Charlton were dickheads for leaking that btw. Tinpot.

If true that begs the question: Why did he go for the interview? Just a power play? Trying to leverage something from County? Or genuinely a decision based on family/personal reasons (which is fair enough)? Either way it's going to be a bit awkward now. |

If its true and he does stay, a couple of wins, Wooton on the way back, maybe Powell pulling the strings... Could be a great way to get the team and fans back on board the promotion train 😁

He attended a job interview and decided he was better where he was. People do it all the time. Nothing awkward about it in the slightest. |

Perhaps it’s a game of poker with Scott and Wilson and to by himself some more time by pulling out of talks .
I still think that he will be gone by November if we don’t have a turnaround equivalent of last year
