Just got back. Utterly shagged from the journey but we’ve done it. Tonight was special. The players knew it. The way they stood in front of us at the end and took it in is generational stuff. Just ace. I thought you’d decided not to go? Bet you’re glad you did in the end 😁

26 goals in 3 games 😂 See you next season. 7 games. Our 4 games would also go towards any collapse and goal difference turnaround. You missed “which in the real world isn’t happening anyway” off the end 😁👍

Barring a truly catastrophic reversal of our +26 goal difference on MK Nope. MK can only get 83, us getting a point from the last four games will put us on 84, Yeh I know. I probably didn’t phrase it well. Basically what I’m saying is that we don’t even need the point. No chance will MK beat us on goal difference WE ARE UP 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Scrappy game on an awful pitch. But job done. Almost. More than almost. Let's get the official P on Sat and then go for the title.

Officially yes, but it’s done now we’re up. Barring numerous miracle score lines. We’ve lost 4 of our last 36 league games I can’t see us taking 4 heavy defeats in a row now! AND Mansfield would need to take 7 points from 3 games (the 4th they have to lose to MK) and Wrexham 4 points from 3 games (well 1 from 2 as we have to lose to them in this scenario). That leaves us all on 83 but we'd have the worst GD. If anyone needs another layer of comfort!

Despite how shit the ref was, I think the big decisions may be right. Horsfall looks a fraction off to me, though not the best angle and a super tight / VAR lines one. Pye has a good hold of their player to stop him getting away. Maybe the ref's handling of the game and not getting on top of the wrestling led to that, but I don't think we can complain.

True. Anyone who started watching us when we were last in div.1 has been on a bigger roller coaster ride than any thats been invented. In that list you can add a couple of PO defeats and missing out on another in the last game of the season.

Hope MK join us as we can thank them for our first winning run and this one. Both started after defeating them. Hope defeats of them continue to be big omens.

We all knew the draw against Northampton had relegated us, but because we might've turned round a 6 point swing and 35 GD swing in the final two games, none of the official tables put up the 'R' until the defeat at Crewe the week after.

In terms of “how did that end up in the net”, I wouldn’t be surprised if the layer of sand the ball would have picked up in that corner meant the goalie couldn’t grip the ball properly. My heart bleeds.

Minor thing that amused me on Radio Manchester last night before the game (on that 6 to 7pm show): "and we're now going to talk to Stockport fan John" - the guy comes on and it's John Keirghan - no explanation Radio Manc that he's actually the club commentator, etc.

Cowley in the studio for their post match interview. Good interview from DC. Bit of praise but lot of focus on being better for the title and L1. Accepts we got a bit of luck yesterday but you have to show different facets to get promoted and winning ugly is one of them. Few players spoken about directly. - Ben, DC his biggest critic as knows what he can do. Wants him to come for the first goal but equally saved a pen! - Bristow, big question mark / where needs to improve is his defensive game. Athletic, attacking but needs to improve 1v1 defending and that side of his game to play at a higher level. Young lad, spoken to him and has time to improve that. - Barry, blowing from 30 mins. Struggled to find his second wind but a step ticked off on his recovery. Big physical and psychological step. - Knoyle, done great as was concerned about playing him again but wanted a more orthodox wingback there. Need to keep him as a limited options there and gives us options to switch to a back 4 in game. Kane is injured. "A little bit of an injury"
