We are promoted. The 1 point for promotion thing is bollocks. We have enough points and a 26 goal advantage to be certain that we are not being caught by Milton Keynes. County are not going to lose all of our remaining 4 games 3-0 and MK are not going to win all of their remaining 3 games 5-0, both of which would need to happen for our lead to be assailed. We are promoted. Time to clinch the title. We’re up. But we’re not officially up till we get that one more point. Looking forward to that P appearing on the table. C would be even better!

Also for anyone getting off the coach near the ground, keep an eye out. Two scrotes on scramblers lurking near the Olde Vic. Lights off, masks on. Wouldn’t be surprised if they try and pick off any stragglers for phones, wallets etc. That was about 10-15 mins ago. Don't know of it was the same guys, but as I was walking down Edward Street about 10 minutes ago there was a police car and van, and 4 coppers detaining and searching 2 guys. Just beyond the Town Hall heading towards Hillgate. Didn't linger or look too closely, but I couldn't see any obvious signs of scramblers. Wouldn't be surprised if it was them. We were driving up King Street to drop someone off near The Florist and they came out of Gradwell St onto the main road when they saw us. They had no lights on and seemed to be making a bit of an effort to catch up with us before giving up. No doubt whatsoever they were looking for targets. Those off road bikes seem to be a big issue around Edgeley. I'm there reasonably often on non-match days and it's very common to see them roaring down Mercian Way in packs, no number plates, no helmets, going through red lights etc. Would happily see an HGV plough into them, tbh. I hate them.

Can’t imagine they maintain the bikes they (presumably) stole, so only a matter of time before something breaks, hurling the rider across the tarmac. At least a helmet would make their corneas salvageable afterwards…

Yep. Had my first date with my now wife the night before we played Boston in our first season in the national League north. Got beat, obviously. I imaged you were older than that Waldorf actually? - assuming this was / is your first Wife? (and even that doesn't preclude these things happening in later later life?) - I assume you'll excuse me talking shi*t as we've just been promoted? Think we're probably similar age. Early/mid forties. And yes, first wife.

Same with d*ckhead drivers, usually on the M62. Very common to have cars fly past who must easily be doing 110+. Quite happy for you to suffer catastrophic injuries on a race track or farm land somewhere, just don't drive like that where you can injure others.

I’ve since seen they don’t wear helmets as it limits what the police can do to stop them because they’re more likely to be seriously injured if they come off. Something else that’ll be blamed on the ECHR at the next election, no doubt…

2010: League 1 ⬇️ 2011: League 2 ⬇️ 2013: National League ⬇️ 2013: National League North ➖ 2019: National League North ©️ 2022: National League ©️ 2024: League 2 …….. 2024: League 1 Some f*cking Journey, Some f*cking Club. True. Anyone who started watching us when we were last in div.1 has been on a bigger roller coaster ride than any thats been invented. In that list you can add a couple of PO defeats and missing out on another in the last game of the season. It’s what I say when I get people asking why I support a club like County. Apart from it being our hometown club, it’s just so much more fun. I feel for anyone who supports Everton, for example. Can you imagine anything duller than being in the PL year after year after year? In a little over two decades, we’ve seen our club play in five different divisions. Very few football supporters can say that. We’ve seen the journey of five relegations and four promotions this century alone. And I reckon that, if we carry on like we are at the moment, in a few years we’ll be talking about having got up to the Championship, relegated all the way down to the National League North, and back to the Championship again inside 30 years. Unique.

Relegate them now.

There wasn't even any pace on the cross. The ball genuinely trickled into the net. Was a massive delayed reactions from the County fans at far realising it had gone in. It didn't look like a cross to me in fairness, it looked like he'd had a go and taken a massive deflection. Delay was simply because it looked like the keeper had saved it. I thought the ref had given a penalty when the cheer went up only to see the players celebrating.

Posted this yesterday, which has been very well received. Great write up of the dark days and the comeback. Still feel slightly nauseous remembering that it really was 6 years spent in NLN.
