I thought it was soft at the time and having watched it back it is the softest penalty given that Inhave ever seen! Tanto got booked for time wasting for playing the ball after being caught offside in the 1st half but when their player did the same thing near the end, he didn't even get spoken to. The ref yesterday was bobbins. Double standards at every opportunity. The referee was absolutely shite and was Sutton's best player. As a manager, I would like to think I wouldn't be one for constantly popping at refs in post match interviews but in a game yesterday where we won comfortably I'd be delighted to bring his performance up so those listening would know it's not sour grapes. Yesterday's referee was refereeing a top flight match just a month ago and was in the news for signing autographs before the game. It's notable a month later he's back at this level. He was shite.

At the time and confirmed by the highlights @46secs their number 7 fouled Touray before he got the ball and went down in the box under Pye's contact. You could argue their player shoulder charged Touray but he was making no attempt to win the ball. Foul!

The penalty decision is utterly embarrassing their player takes a heavy touch that takes him towards Pye who just stands his ground and doesnt really challenge for the ball, their lad falls over and ref was perfectly placed creamed himself that he could give a pen, just an appalling decision of which there were many

Also that free kick he gave on the edge of the box to them which was just a standard tussle to win a header between CB (think it was Byrne) and CF. Tussles like all over the pitch and he gave them all to them. And to give them one in such a goalscoring opportunity. This was before the penalty and at 1-0 I think. He was horrendous.

What a day out, old school atmosphere in the ground.
We have come back into form at the right time of the season. 9 unbeaten to finish it off.
Promotion next Saturday, win the league the following Saturday. Two huge days on Edgeley coming up 💙

Absolute joke of a penalty that. Legitimate shoulder contact & goes down like a sack of spuds. Paddy's third goal! absolute beauty.

In the end the refs performance did not affect the result. Like players he did not go out to have a bad game or have it in for us at the outset. If he was like that every week he,d still be reffing parks football and he,s not the only sikh referee around if some are thinking thats the reason he has got as far as he has.

Haven’t read the thread, just got home after a momentous day on the pop. Said back in September we’d piss the title, looks like that’ll be what happens. Nothing to worry about going to Wrexham on the final day. They’ll be applauding us onto the pitch by then, even if they’re not then we’ll be promoted long before that game. Don't want to be on a downer but can we not with the "piss the title" chat? It's clearly not what's happened even if we do go to win it comfortably. We've had some proper battles and adversity (for that read injuries) and to me pissing the title is what Chesterfield have done. Clear top, all the way, winning it with plenty of games to spare. Whatever happens we won't do that. Besides not being accurate imo, it's disrespectful to the league - especially when we have work to win the thing! Maybe harsh after a few beers but that's where confidence strays on to arrogance to me and a bit "told you so".

Don't see anything wrong in what he said tbf. Direct & to the point. Obviously not happy with his side but accepting of the fact we're a good side & deserve to be top.

Not many clubs piss a title is the league but if we do win it we have had to do it the hard way with injuries thrown at us and cannot remember us doing a smash and grab on opponents. Not one to go OTT but there are many fans who have never witnessed a league promotion or living in a league champions town so its each to there own.
