Haven’t read the thread, just got home after a momentous day on the pop. Said back in September we’d piss the title, looks like that’ll be what happens. Nothing to worry about going to Wrexham on the final day. They’ll be applauding us onto the pitch by then, even if they’re not then we’ll be promoted long before that game. Don't want to be on a downer but can we not with the "piss the title" chat? It's clearly not what's happened even if we do go to win it comfortably. We've had some proper battles and adversity (for that read injuries) and to me pissing the title is what Chesterfield have done. Clear top, all the way, winning it with plenty of games to spare. Whatever happens we won't do that. Besides not being accurate imo, it's disrespectful to the league - especially when we have work to win the thing! Maybe harsh after a few beers but that's where confidence strays on to arrogance to me and a bit "told you so". We have. Been top since October, bar a week or two. Won 12 games in a row. Clear at the top. We’ll win it with games to spare. That’s pissing the league. Maybe not to the extent Chesterfield have but we’ll be absolutely deserved champions. Just a matter of time now.

That's not pissing the league for me. That's winning it comfortably, providing we do the business in the coming weeks. Chesterfield's title is and is whole new level in terms of comfort. Let's not forget some were talking about us struggling for automatic promotion about a month ago. Completely agree we'll be deserved champions (if we do it!) and had the potential to run away with but for injuries. Guessing it's just semantics between us.

Who knew Ibby had a throw in like that. He launched a couple of rockets into the box yesterday does make you wonder why we haven't seen it more often especially considering how bad we are at throw ins by losing possession 9 times out of 10

Interesting interview. Very happy with a very professional performance.
Confirms that Wootton for Bailey was entirely tactical to get us up the pitch against the wind (as I guessed). Bold call that when winning 3-1 at HT. DC got everything right yesterday. He repeated his love of control being happier with the second half performance and the game management against the win.
Plan is to make changes for Tuesday - regardless of performances - with the focus being on physical stats and having the intensity we need away. Thought Fri-Mon last week without changes left us a bit flat vs the Dons.
Is Kane injured? DC talks about Knoyle and cover in the RWB spot and only CLE, Hippo and Cass get a mention.
Horsfall fine which is a relief! Key, key player. Sarcevic bit of a dead leg but should be fine. Potential issue with Touray having rolled his ankle right at the end of the game. Going to see what that looks like after it settles. Hippo and Bristow coming back the options.
First aim promoted, second Champions and still quite a bit a way from that. Will celebrates promotion as our objective but the title is the next goal after that.

Far too much of it going on in todays football and ends up slowing the game down even more.

People talking about struggling for promotion were just plainly wrong. We’ve not been out of the top two at the end of a round of games for the majority of the season. As you say, you say winning it comfortably, I say pissing the league. It’s the same thing.

Also that free kick he gave on the edge of the box to them which was just a standard tussle to win a header between CB (think it was Byrne) and CF. Tussles like all over the pitch and he gave them all to them. And to give them one in such a goalscoring opportunity. This was before the penalty and at 1-0 I think. He was horrendous. I was in the home end yesterday as my mate who lives local got comp tickets. I was stood right behind the bench which was ab interesting perspective, you could hear everything they said, and they were banging the plastic dugout roof for each goal!🤣 I got a different perspective on both the pen and the Byrne foul. Technically Pye touches him in the back not shoulder (from my angle live) but it was soft. The Byrne one was more ridiculous, if you give that you're blowing your whistle every 20 seconds. I thought the ref was awful all game but seemed much more of a homer first half. Clint Hill spent most of the first half in the 4th official's ear, even replicating the Byrne foul on him to show how soft it was! Tanto spent most of his time offside but there was one in 2nd half that I was pretty much inline with the last man and he was on, would have been 1 on 1. Paddy's third looked even better from my angle too, tv doesn't do it justice! The gap to get it on goal was so small and the power was immense. Finally, Sutton has a very non league feel about it, can't imagine they'll bounce back immediately if they do go down

Top Goal scorers Best Defence Top of the league BEAUTIFUL Recruitment has been dreadful though. No no you see if we end up winning the title by 5 points it’ll have been despite the dreadful recruitment. We’ve already dropped 43 points this season, which could and should have been avoided.

I wasn't sure of the penalty decision from where I was, and from the main camera angle... but that pitchside camera dispels any questions, Pye barges into the bloke.
