Nice. As an aside, I do that with lots of TV theme tunes that don't have words, sliding the title in wherever it fits. Or even where it doesn't. I'm simple like that. Match of the Day is on the telly/ It's on the telly now/ Match of the Day is on the telly/ It's on the telly now/ Match of the Day is on the telly/ It's on the telly now/ Match of the Day is on the telly/ And it's on the telly right now You have to slightly emphasise the first "the" in the penultimate line to make is scan satisfactorily, but it does work. Hats off to that man. Tremendous contribution. I for one will never tune in again without singing along, and in all likelihood out loud.

I've heard of others that do Emmerdale Farm, even though it's not been "...Farm" for years. Instead of na na na, try "it's time for..." I think I read somewhere that theme tune composers do try and use a rhythm that is based on saying the title of the programme. I suspect it's true because it works far more often than not.

There was similar in the Profanisaurus years ago. F*ck off you f*cking b*stard, f*ck off you f*cking t*at I said F*ck off you f*cking b*stard, f*ck off you f*cking t*at I said F*ck off you f*cking b*stard, f*ck off you f*cking t*at F*ck off you f*cking b*stard, f*ck off you f*cking t*at Still works.

Looks like Tuchel is happening. Have to say I’m very happy with that. A genuine world class manager whose style should translate to international football.
Can’t say we haven’t given this talented generation its best chance with him in charge.

Can’t say we haven’t given this talented generation its best chance with him in charge. I'm pleased with this, the only negative I can see is that he doesn't really stay anywhere very long. Interestingly (well, I think so anyway!) Tuchel is from Krumbach, in Bavaria. Krumbach is in the Bavarian Swabia region, part of Swabia. The Swabian coat of arms is a yellow shield with 3 black lions ...

I don’t know whether Tuchel will turn out to be the right appointment or not, but I quite like it. It’s interesting, and it’s doing something different.
Southgate took us so close to silverware, and couldn’t quite get us over the line. There’s an argument that the FA should stick to the SGP model and the principles they’ve developed, but if the SGP candidate is Carsley, these games he’s had have backfired.
So then you go for someone you feel can fit into the framework we’ve got. Southgate’s results were largely excellent, but the football was often a hard watch. Tuchel’s football is easier on the eye, and if he can get a tune out of them, great.
He hasn’t tended to stay anywhere long. He is famously an intense figure (and according to some rumour, possibly fond of certain… partying habits), but international football is different to club football. In a lot of ways, international coaches have to work to make players forget their muscle memory from club football. So perhaps it will work (and for the same reasons, perhaps it won’t).
Plus, there’s the added benefit that he’s German. Imagine the piss it will boil if England men win their first thing in six decades with a German manager. The little Englanders won’t know what to do. Aside from that, there’s a more sincere argument about whether international sides should always have a native manager, a genuine sense of “our best versus your best”. I can see that argument, but fundamentally I disagree with it. Football transcends borders and Englishness doesn’t have to just be about the place you’re born in.
I suppose what I’m saying is, if Tuchel were British, everyone would be buzzing at getting a coach with three domestic titles, a Champions League, Super Cup and a load of other domestic trophies under his belt. He is a bona fide top-class coach.
Whether it’ll work, who knows. It might really backfire, it might be great, but it’ll be fun to find out. Good luck to him.

He reportedly gets on better with the English media than the German media. I'm a bit concerned with his history of fallouts but that may be less of an issue at international level where the fixtures and training are less frequent - maybe what we need is someone to bring intensity for short bursts of fixtures and really get his message across. Whether it will pay off? Who knows but there certainly were worse choices and I'm not sure there was anyone better available.

To be honest didn't see this one coming at all but I bet Ten Hag at Utd is happy as I seriously thought that by Xmas Tuchel would be at Utd if their current form continues. I think he's a good manager & it doesn't bother me that he doesn't stay long anywhere, happy for him to win us the next World cup then bugger off if he likes

Tuchel’s football is easier on the eye, and if he can get a tune out of them, great. I like the appointment also based on the length of contract, as if it doesn't work out then by 2026 either Pep or Eddie Howe might be in a different position or somebody else English may emerge as an obvious candidate. The reaction to him and his tactics / style of play, etc, will be interesting though. There'll be the inevitable "see what you want to believe" reaction to his early games, and the Henry Winter types will declare him an obvious upgrade over Southgate. In reality though, to be an upgrade over Southgate he's got to get to the World Cup Final (Semi was only where Southgate got), (and the next (expanded) one in North America is going to be tough) or then win the Euros (Final wasn't good enough for many). Per style of play, last Euros showed we're not really that bothered about style of play (I recall myself getting a bit of grief from the majority on here for saying I wanted performance over results).
