It’ll take a while to get out of there after the match There are going to be water taxis on the reservoir The Vita Airways seaplane can’t take off from just anywhere either…

Small detail, but looks like they're going to put additional parking round the back of the popside, as well as pushing the travel plan. It’ll take a while to get out of there after the match They'll be corporates and still in the bar.

The main stand being extended to run the full length of the pitch is one of the most exciting bits of this for me. I've always hated the gaps either side of it and the collection of weird buildings so I'm happy that they're going to get that deal with. The other two stands are more or less what I'd have expected, no real surprises but it makes sense and will look good once it's done.

It’ll take a while to get out of there after the match Think many will be revising their travel arrangements to and fro EP when it expands and the crowds start to flock in. We used to park up and get away fairly easy for games until last season, but nowadays then it's just too stressful. So far its been OK via the bus, but come winter when it's cold and wet, then that stroll down King St, and across Stockport for the 330(cos bus station is shut)isn't so welcoming, and we'll probably join the masses again in a steamed up car stuck in traffic for the best part of 30 mins. (BTW, when we were good, then used to park near to the ground but it's now residents only, which is fair enough)

Hate the corner next to the RE, the police box and them other awful buildings. I'm not ashamed to admit I'm very excited to hear all this stuff. I've seen loads saying ' they better keep the original facade'. They said they definitely would be preserving the frontage about a year or so ago and the Main Stand would be the last to be completed as it'd be the more tricky of the lot. There's been a bit of negativity which is mental. We've been crying out for the rest of the ground to be properly upgraded since 1995!! Everyone should be really excited by this! We've got the right people in charge to really do a great job too. Let's not forget 12 years ago the ground looked on it's arse as much as the club did. We should be buzzing! Only slight negative for me (as someone else mentioned) is I'd have hoped we'd be further forward than where we are. BUT not going to complain, the initial sketches are exactly what you want to be seeing. Can't wait for the more advanced stuff.

It'd be interesting to know what people feel the biggest barriers to such plans being approved and going ahead are?
For me it is the travel arrangements / travel plan.
It seems clear already from social media that this is the one thing that Will cause objections.
It needs to be comprehensive and innovative.
Not, "no parking/driving at all" but minimal driving/parking.
Much wider promotion on website/social media/programme how to get to EP from bus station/train station/A6/Town centre.
Similar publication of the buses that run along Mercian Way.
Promotion by way of articles of interesting walking routes from parts of Stockport to EP.
Enhanced cycle parking.
Deals with bus companies so they advertise EP/County on their destination boards.
Deals with TFGM and Avanti for more enhanced signage/publicity of how to get to EP from the bus and train station.
Deals with bus companies on cheap/free matchday travel in Stockport/locally with a match ticket/season card.
Posters at the local rail stations that feed into Stockport with matchday train times and a map of how to get to EP from the station.
Deals with those who own/run the car parks at the college, town hall/municipal area, rail station multistorey to use these for matchday parking as they are very poorly used at weekends and evenings.
Park and ride around the car parks and town centre.
A digital or paper copy of the travel plan being sent/given to every season card holder/buyer, first time ticket buyer, and organiser of free ticket visits, any organiser of non-matchday events.
Perhaps if the club ever did fixture posters to go up in pubs and clubs across the area (like young Des Hinks IIRC spent so long across town putting up a few years ago) these could be personalised to the pub to show the best way to EP on public transport minimising the time spent away from the pub.
I realise not all of these probably will happen or can happen.
But it needs to be as innovative, forward-thinking, and comprehensive as possible as I think this us going to be the one area where we're going to have a lot of pushback from local residents citing/whinging about traffic problems.

What areas with SK postcode can get to EP direct via a train? I know Hazel Grove, Davenport, Heaton Chapel can, but what other areas can get trains direct to Stockport? Think it's bus to the town centre for most SK people using public transport, and then the decision whether to walk up the hill, or get another bus for the short journey.

No one takes any notice of naming rights on old grounds do they? Only when they’re given to new grounds, and then they stick with the first name given. Yep. “The Reebok”

Quite a few if you include the SK postcode area.

I’d love to get the train from the Humber Riviera to home matches, there’s no chance at the minute, multiple services a day are cancelled on the day. I’ve seen no sign whatsoever that anyone has any interest is sorting the situation out, I think the trains are being deliberately run down to reduce demand and give justification to further reduce services and lower subsidies required (and as retribution against striking staff)

Yep, no negativity from me about any of this. 4 years ago we were struggling to get out of the NLN with a condemned stand and the rest of the ground full of faded, broken seats that were only replaced when we got round to cannibalising a block of seats from the RE. Advertising boards everywhere for old sponsors who hadn't paid us a penny in years, some of which had become vital for structural integrity of rooves. The ground as it is right now is a massive upgrade on all of that and however disappointing things have been on the pitch, I'm very grateful that EP is getting proper maintenance and upgrades now. Expand to 20k and do it well with architecture that will age nicely, we can handle that kind of capacity in League One and above for sure so let's get it sorted in advance.
