Way things are at the moment we are guarenteed 25 home games at EP with an outside chance of a few more if we are lucky in cup draws. For me this is only a slight inconveniance to where in lived in tugby which was a five mins walk to the train station. We had a problem 6 days a week from 6am to about 8pm from commuters and shoppers parking there. Its this idea of that spot infront of your house being yours that needs addressing. I would say that for large portions of Edgeley there is the problem with commuters parking on the streets before heading to the station as well. There are more and more calls for resident parking permits more generally, not just because of match days. Sadly some residents just don't like football fans. I parked once at ep some lads were doing some building work and asked would it be OK if I moved. No problem. I moved across the street then the resident came in her car and just gave me daggers. If she'd said I have some heavy shopping I'd have moved and probably helped her with the shopping. Instead she just gave me daggers for no reason other than taking her "space" on a public street. She then deliberately parked so close to me it was untrue. After the macc game I scratched someone's car and knocked on doors to find the owner. Great chap I paid to get his car fixed and apologised profusely. I appreciate it's annoying but the football crowd does benefit the community. When I lived in huddersfield if I was at home on Saturday and town were playing the traffic would be awful from 13.00-14.00 guess what I went another way or put up with it.

A long time since I was driving in Stockport and much has changed. Just had a look at the public car parking map for Stockport and I have counted 10 that are within walking distance of Edgeley Park. As I have posted here before, when I lived on Turncroft Lane, I always walked to EP from home.

The thing with football is its basically every other saturday with the odd mid week game from august till the first week in may. It way be a bit inconveniant for residents but not like living near a bus or railway station is as thats 6 days a week 52 weeks a year. Always have said there are other places to live in any price range and it aint compulsory to live near a football ground. If it bothers people that much find somewhere else when they are looking in the same way i,d never live close to any pub or places that play music.

Not seen this posted anywhere else. New Vita branding on the roof. May as well just call it the Vita Stadium now and have done with it. There’s that much Vita branding and signage everywhere I don’t think it’d make too much difference.

If you buy next to a stadium, pub, gig venue etc then expect some disruption/disturbance. Don't be one of those whoppers who tries to get an old institution shut down because you've moved there and don't like the noise. The Night & Day in Manchester seems to get hit with that kind of thing regularly.

Then they moan about the negatives. Some people just like moaning!

They may end up moaning even more if County did move and the shops on castle street started to close one by one. Just wonder how much extra revenue a game brings in on a saturday afternoon match day. Very rarely i never spend anything over the years on castle street shops and usually get two weeks dog food there pre match for a start plus the fryery and watch batteries from the bloke near home bargains.

I think Castle Street will be able to survive on it's own soon enough once the long-promised wave of investment finally hits. There's so many first time buyers in Edgeley with decent disposable income that it's almost unbelievable it hasn't picked up yet. But I think that investment will be hitting fairly soon and it'll turn. But there's no doubt whatsoever that County has kept a lot of Castle Street going for years.

Like all investment it will depend on how the investment is used and what people and not planners want. Think an upgrade on the propery with similar types of shop with the odd decent one would be better than going all poncy boutique this and that where many residents and football fans get priced out or not being their thing anyway. Know some on here will love all craft beers and fancy gins along with food outlets of a similar ilk but not for me and plenty of others as well out of the 7k crowd that do not post on here.

I remember walking through the northern quarter in town in 2000 swapping trains due to work (victoria to piccadilly) and it was run down and properly edgy. Now it's posh fake edgy with nice bars etc. The same happened with far Gosforth street in Coventry. When hs2 gets built edgeley will be commutable to London that's when I expect it to get even posher.

Not sure it makes it anymore of a Vita stadium though, most people won’t even see that.
