What gets me is people are quite happy to buy houses next to railway stations schools etc. There's benefits. Then they moan about the negatives. Some people just like moaning! They may end up moaning even more if County did move and the shops on castle street started to close one by one. Just wonder how much extra revenue a game brings in on a saturday afternoon match day. Very rarely i never spend anything over the years on castle street shops and usually get two weeks dog food there pre match for a start plus the fryery and watch batteries from the bloke near home bargains. Interesting choice of pre-match food you get there. I usually just go for a KitKat chunky and a bag of crisps!

I think Castle Street will be able to survive on it's own soon enough once the long-promised wave of investment finally hits. There's so many first time buyers in Edgeley with decent disposable income that it's almost unbelievable it hasn't picked up yet. But I think that investment will be hitting fairly soon and it'll turn. But there's no doubt whatsoever that County has kept a lot of Castle Street going for years. I remember walking through the northern quarter in town in 2000 swapping trains due to work (victoria to piccadilly) and it was run down and properly edgy. Now it's posh fake edgy with nice bars etc. The same happened with far Gosforth street in Coventry. When hs2 gets built edgeley will be commutable to London that's when I expect it to get even posher. Posher ? Didn't know it was even posh lol

Not seen this posted anywhere else. New Vita branding on the roof. May as well just call it the Vita Stadium now and have done with it. There’s that much Vita branding and signage everywhere I don’t think it’d make too much difference. Can't say I'm bothered tbh. All I ask is that they don't try to rename the ground as the Vita Arena, Vitarena, or any other derivation thereof

Not sure it makes it anymore of a Vita stadium though, most people won’t even see that. I don't care what the official name becomes. It'll still ep to me.

I'd imagine you can go into the roof for the 3rd. But great location though spitting distance from the station.

Not sure where to put this so I'll stick it here:
'Supporter services' sounds disconcertingly vague.

Depending on where you currently live is either the bargain of the century or overpriced by 100k. Ex council house in harrow is up for 775,000 if anyone is interested as her in the kitchens brother wants to move.

I think the ship has sailed with regards to it being a super-value place to buy but 3-5 years ago that was the case. I know quite a few people who have no connection to Stockport who have bought in Edgeley but just pass through Castle Street on their way to the town centre or to the train station. Pretty much the only shops they use are the Co-op and the newsagents. There's a huge opportunity to transform Castle Street, which I'm sure Mr Stott is already all over. There's been one or two attempts at little businesses popping up but it probably needs a few to arrive at once to make it a bit of a destination rather than just one at a time. Slightly different operation but look at how Sale has been transformed over the past couple of years. It's always been a nice place to live but the town centre was so dull and boring, nothing of any real interest. Now it's one of the best places in Manchester to be. Loads of ace bars and restaurants, some of the best anywhere around Manchester. Sugo, Petisco, Greens, Foodhalls are here, independent bars too. That was unthinkable even three years ago. With a bit of vision, investment and the right businesses Edgeley could be as good as anywhere.

Surely Head of Supporter Services would sound better for the culture. Head of reading Yellowboard all day. Hopefully a role similar to the one the guy at Doncaster was doing who contacted us before we played there. He seemed to be doing a decent job there.
