I know it will have been asked before and so I apologise for a duplicated question but I'm simply too lazy to search, can someone let me know what the purpose was of the large steel box section frames in the car park (which hopefully have now gone), I seemed to recall someone saying they were ram barriers of some kind but this never made any sense to me.

There was a ram-raid on the ticket office in the early days of the Cheadle End IIRC

Seems a bit OTT for that, a couple of well founded ram bollards would have done, but then since when did County ever take the simple option!

Pretty sure I remember a group trying to rob the ticket office in the 90s/00s
Possibly something to do with that.

Something to do with controlling queues.

Exactly that. We were just existing and as the ground goes were relying on volunteers to clean and paint the ground up. Aye, just like the Arsenal facade on Highbury, still there on front of the new houses that replaced Highbury

Looks amazing, but just like when you paint a wall at home, it makes the rest of the stand look like it could do with some cladding. I hope they do the sides too (or at least the one visible from Hardcastle Rd).

I hope they do the sides too (or at least the one visible from Hardcastle Rd). They are doing, you can see they’ve already got some work done on the side in preparation. Those steel (?) beams that hold the cladding in place are new.
