Given that work was supposedly due to start in January I wonder if we've ran into an issue given the silence about the project in recent months. An update from the club would be good as it feels like the excitement around the redevelopment of EP has fizzled out a bit. Yeah. We’re miles behind and desperate for new big stands. Very frustrating!

Yeah. We’re miles behind and desperate for new big stands. Very frustrating! Wonder if the club are having second thoughts about the full project and will we see it happening. its a humongous project that im gonna guess is gonna cost more than £20 million just basing off other grounds. We also need to upgrade the squad over the next few years as any team does but if the aim is the championship then lets say another £3 million plus and then if we are also building a new training facility thats a complete guess of over £10 million The tranfer fee and training numbers are guesses and are over the next few years in total. But its alot of money that needs to be spent to achieve all of that (ground expansion, new training ground and better squad for championship) Us fans need to do all we can to start filling the ground out now and back the club incase they are having 2nd thoughts or even if they want to upgrade the railway end and leave it at that for abit. How many 9.5k+ crowds have we had this season?

It’s not all happening in one go. The club have been very clear that each phase will be based on demand.
I take your point about crowds but I think a decent Railway End would attract at least another 2,000 county fans plus as many away fans as we can deal with.
I’ve got no doubt about the club’s commitment to getting at least the Railway End started. The most likely scenario is that they’re taking their time to get the details right and maybe completing their final negotiations with council planning officers.

Wasn’t it also suggested a while ago that a site for a training ground had been identified?

How many 9.5k+ crowds have we had this season? It’s true, fans do need to start filling the ground, everyone who already goes needs to go to each match twice. I’m a walking case study of who the new RE will attract, I’ve been going since 1989, have a lot of other stuff going on in my life but would go a lot more often, including with my kids, if the only available tickets at short notice weren’t open to the elements and a generally terrible experience.

We really need to crack on with this development while we are still relatively hot as a commodity. Can't help but feeling the hype around us as a club and a town is already starting to fade a little.
Problem at the moment is that we're just not set up to showcase a decent experience for walk ups and what I mean by that is people who decide late on in the week that they fancy checking us out on the saturday. The CE and main stand sell out most games (even though there are always loads of empty seats in the CE) and the pop side and railway end are just a bit rubbish for impressing your casual punter who's just decided to rock up and see what it's all about.
We desperately need to be able to offer a modern stand with a good view, all the neccessary ammenities and that has plenty of capacity to cater for casual walk ups eg, families that decide on a saturday morning "hey lets take the kids down to Stockport County" - this is the kind of thing that builds attendance. It's my view that we're missing out on this at the moment and just by building a new stand we would attract an extra couple of K on the gate. There are still quite a few of us that doubt that this extra fan base can be built (largely the older lot I feel who grew up in the 70's and 80's with us having dire attendances) but i'm sure it's there and just needs the right facilities to harness it.

The CE and main stand sell out most games (even though there are always loads of empty seats in the CE) The empty seats is possibly another result of the poor walk up experience, e.g. more are buying Season Tickets who won't attend every game in order to avoid the poor walk up experience for the games they do want to attend.

These things take time, and we've had a change of government who are drastically reform the planning laws so its not a surprise things take some time.

I wonder if those people are treated with the same contempt as those who bought season tickets for their kids who don't attend every game were? I think there is a difference between those that don't attend every game and the rumour(?) that some were buying free child tickets as a way to get more leg room/space (sure I've not made that up?). I do think we need to seriously think about our re-sale market/options particularly when at such low capacity. This is incredibly difficult at the moment noting our shambolic ticket system but it would be great if you could declare your season ticket as not required for a specific game, receive 50% credit on your season ticket for spending at EP (club shop/concession stand) of the marginal cost of the game (i.e. 50% of 1/23rd of ST price) and allow that ticket to be resold by the club on a ticket portal as an adult ticket. If the ticket is unsold then no refund is due. This would increase attendances and generate further revenue for the club.
