I've no idea why people think the electronic pitch side screens are a good thing, I find them horrible, really intrusive

Did all the TV teams have them for their games? Or did we decide to do it ourselves? Decided to do it ourselves 👍 So we will have taken the revenue presumably, and paid a hire fee for the boards

A few of our usual sponsors were in there, but most of the time was given to Emirates, Vita group, bet365, unibet and LV bet. Almost certainly those sponsors came with the TV deal. Exception was Vita, but Stott would have paid the same as those other companies for the same level of exposure. Inadvertently helps get revenue into the club too and not breach any rules. If might be the club decision to have the boards, but doubt there is very much we need to do to facilitate it all. I also am sure from memory that when FCUM had them, that it was mentioned in commentary that the boards were arranged for them by the TV company. It was weird to not see them at Marine, but I’m wondering if that’s anything to do with it being the Beeb and less driven by sponsorship revenue.

On this note, and also the scoreboard, then I have always been a bit surprised how little we actually used the 'new' all singing scoreboard to advertise companies, give updates on County stuff, announce birthdays, etc etc. It never really seemed to work very well.

I might be wrong but I just don’t see how or why the boards would be associated in any way with the broadcast company (other than the cameras are the reason why the space can be sold). It will (IMO) almost certainly be either the club themselves or a 3rd party agency selling on our behalf. Not really bothered which as I’m sure it was additional revenue to any TV money for screening the game.

Replacement of the video scoreboard seems to be taking an age. Every time I watch a live stream from EP nothing seems to have happened.
In the area behind the Railway end, though, the housing development seems to have come on apace. The Bungalow is still there, but obviously we can't see the old bowling green, which last time I saw it was absolutely jam-packed with what looked like metal shipping containers.
Does anyone have any further info on the proposed redevelopments... or has that all gone a bit quiet?
Alternatively, is there anyone who lives a bit nearer than I do who could maybe go and take a look at what's going on behind the Railway end, and post an image or two?

Suppose it doesn’t really make sense to put that screen up at the moment. No point in it getting weathered when it won’t be used anyway.

Yes... but it's a very substantial bit of kit, and something I would have thought may even have been made to order. And not something either the club or its manufacturer would want to take up space just lying around. I mean, it's not quite the same as popping down to Curry's to buy a new kettle or toaster!
