Suppose it doesn’t really make sense to put that screen up at the moment. No point in it getting weathered when it won’t be used anyway. Yes... but it's a very substantial bit of kit, and something I would have thought may even have been made to order. And not something either the club or its manufacturer would want to take up space just lying around. I mean, it's not quite the same as popping down to Curry's to buy a new kettle or toaster! I’d noticed similar and wonder if the budget has been diverted to support the squad development whilst income is still difficult to generate without crowds

We got it off LCCC, so maybe we've asked them to take it back and look after it while we get the area ready 👀

Yeah I got you mate, I was just making an unsuccessful attempt at being hilarious and topical.

The paintwork seems to have stopped aswell, it was full steam ahead on the exterior and then looks like its been halted half done.

Imagine it’s a pain in the arse to paint the top beams, particularly with the supporters flags underneath it? The club might be thinking twice about removing County objects now too! 😆

I imagine it's red as a standard rust prevention colour, and not just to piss a few fans off. Like Ngard says, it'd be a right pain and costly to erect scaffolding and paint all the steelwork, without it going onto the seats below.

Not sure if they've finished painting both the main uprights yet, or if that's still a work in progress? Can't tell from the live streams. It certainly wouldn't be a particularly pleasant job on a cold wet day in winter! Personally, I'd not even consider doing any more under the actual roof until/unless the seats were being replaced.

Great aerial pic of EP on the club's Twitter account today. Looks like the Cheadle end paint job may now be finished, but most interesting thing is what's going on behind the Railway end. Lots of house building, and a large cleared(?) area behind the Railway/Pop side corner (the area that was removed from the original housing plans).
The Bungalow is still there, and the former bowling green is still covered in shipping containers. /photo/1

Everytime I see an aerial shot of EP, I think of the guy near me who says 'that's in the reser' when a ball is booted above the pop side for a throw in... the reser is no where near the back of the pop side.... it's just of those small things I miss That block of seats in the RE sticks out like a sore thumb, but it's well down on the 'jobs to do' list.

That block of old seats in the RE gives me bad agita. There’s no explanation for it that will suffice.
Still, two shiny new stands in the coming seasons anyway.

It must be recent, the scoreboard's gone and the pitch looks decent, it's been knackered since the scoreboard came down

Actually, if it went over the roof level with the 6 yard box, it probably would end up in the water!
But it's a decent pic, and clearly shows just how much land actually belongs to County behind the Pop side. You'd probably need to excavate the area currently covered by the refreshment and toilet blocks, in order to achieve a decent foundation, but considering there are already 2400 seats on the current Pop side, you'd have to say an increase to at least 6000 would easily fit on that footprint.
The only problem (apart from the cost!) would be ensuring there were sufficient entry/exit points, which is why the Railway end land is crucially important (and not simply for building a larger stand at that end).
