"My folks had nothing, but always made sure we got fed". As if they can compare two different eras. Compared with a generation ago, the welfare cap, zero hours contracts, and the bedroom tax have all moved where the safety net is.

Compared with a generation ago, the welfare cap, zero hours contracts, and the bedroom tax have all moved where the safety net is. Harking back to the pre austerity golden days and the extra mile their parents went is really helpful when viewing the Country as it is today. The last 10 years has seen a change in Parliament like no other and continuous Prime Ministers have waged war on the poorest and weakest in society. One Nation Conservatism. Like #### it is.

libtard is another useless social media term / Americanism used by hard right people to mean 'someone who says something left wing I disagree with'... Not even saying something "left wing" most of the time; usually just something reasonable and pragmatic. Very often just daring to suggest that cheaper healthcare might be a decent idea, that education is important, that everybody's vote should count, children shouldn't starve, and that just being kind isn't such a radical notion.

Can't access that article, but state aid, in the form of bailing out failing businesses / industries shouldn't be happening. We don't want to see a return to the 70's!
And neither should shysters and charlatans conning the British people into voting to leave the European Union and drag us out of the single market and customs unions, which will cause businesses and industries to collapse, costing millions of British jobs.

From 1945-1975 it was pretty basic centre ground politics that people knew was sensible. Then the Tories and Thatcher slowly but surely got control and flung us massively rightward.

Conservative MP for North Devon this morning...
“I am delighted our local businesses have bounced back so much after lockdown they are able to give away food for free, and very much hope they will not be seeking any further government support.”
Can one of the Conservative voters/sympathisers on this message board please come back and explain why people like me, who think these people are absolutely evil c*nts, are wrong please?

Another Tory MP whose claims their comments were 'taken out of context' despite them being taken completely in context, adding to the bloke from Mansfield who claimed the FSM vouchers from the summer went straight to crack dens and brothels, and the other one who doubled down on that by claiming drug dealers have been taking these food packages as payment, which is fucming hilarious as a concept.

I apologise to the moderators for my bad language. Unfortunately I'd just come from my local 'Heywood Town' Facebook page and read the multitude of people who, having voted that Tory "SCUM" (go Ang) in, have decided they made a mistake. Well. Yes. You did didn't you? You utter morons. Now, lap it all up buttercups. You all won. Enjoy the laurels of victory. Grrrrr

Yes, that's exactly what I was saying. Agree with your thoughts on low-cost decent food.
